Stardust is made of many things.
Tony Curtis started out as a tousled kid from the Bronx who turned into a glamour boy. From the superficialities of this second phase, he grew into a forceful actor.
Rita Hayworth was a black-haired, chunky little girl who made a mediocre living as a dancer, until she gradually developed a new self that won her international homage as the embodiment of desirable femininity.
You know the song “Your Nobody Till Somebody Loves You.” Well that song could have been written about actors!

Back when I was growing up, home gaming systems were relatively new to the entertainment scene. The Atari 2600 was considered cutting-edge, and the original Nintendo system just blew everyone away. These days, Sony is one of the leading manufacturers of home gaming systems, and they have certainly raised the bar in terms of standard features and product quality. Instead of just playing games, Sony’s systems have DVD playback and web browsing capabilities too. Of course all of these things come at a very high price that some consumers just aren’t able to pay. That’s one of the reasons why websites offering cheap PlayStation 2 systems are so popular.

Janet Jackson is attractive, talented, and valued in her own right—outside of her brother’s most famous and infamous of talents. Article on Madonna
It’s not a novel theory that Madonna’s success is due in large part to her ability to re-invent and thereby re-market herself accordingly. (See “alternative feminist” Camille Paglia’s pieces, for example, which make dubious assertions at times, but which also latch onto the key to Madonna’s greatness.) Madonna has marketed herself by touching on the innovative (and borderline risqué), by writing and performing in a manner which lives within the mainstream of popular music, by costuming and choreographing in a way which meets with current trends, and by pioneering such styles a minute beforehand that she endures as an artist and icon.
