Vendors Of Cheap College Books

Monday, July 31st, 2006

As well, sites like the world-renowned EBay give us entrance to booksellers the world over, and you can usually (if you wear’t have time to bid on a book, as you need it within a week) take the “Buy Now” option. EBay sellers, from my experience thus far, are fast. I have gotten books mailed from the UK to the US in under five days! Next, there are venders of college books and cheap college books at college bookstore or outside of EBay online. Here are a few that my own students have used over the years:

Where can I find audio books online?

Monday, July 31st, 2006

An article about locating audio books online.

Because of the genius of Gates, Jobs, and hundreds of others, we can shop for audio books online. Let me point you in the direction of audio books online by way of the online bookstores and auction spots I frequent.

For starters, some great sites, such as Amazon.com, EBay (search “audio book”), and Powells.com, offer audio books online for sale. But further, we can also find audio books online, books that are not for sale but are in the free domain, as the books on which the audios are based have been in existence, were written, or were approved for re-reading before or beyond intellectual property/copyright laws. In other words, there are numerous audio books online that you do not have to struggle to find, buy, or access.

Entertainment is the Spice of Life!

An article about Entertainment   by Joseph Marian

Celebrities fascinate us regardless of what industry they are in. I suppose we all wonder what makes them different from us… or should I say from the average Joe or Jill? What makes a person a star? What is that star quality? Maybe I have it :) Perhaps its because we’ve come to expect these people to entertain us.  Isn’t that the price of fame? When you’re a celebrity you belong to your fans…right? Well… maybe, but I feel the line has to be drawn somewhere. It really irritates me when some of these photographers harrass these people. I mean after all, they are people. Yes we are interested in what they’re doing and how they live and we do want to see these people and…

Get Your Art Noticed With Online Art Galleries

Friday, July 28th, 2006

Quite often, you will meet people at art fairs who are unwilling to make an immediate purchase, but are willing to think about it and consider getting something later. What setting up online art galleries does is give these people the opportunity to look over your work with their friends and family and, if they are interested, make a later purchase.

Television, Movies, Films and ‘Now Playing’.

Thursday, July 27th, 2006

Alleged dangers of television watching:

Paralleling television’s growing primacy in family life and society, an increasingly vocal chorus of legislators, scientists and parents are raising objections to the uncritical acceptance of the medium.

For example, the Swedish government imposed a total ban on advertising to children under twelve in 1991 (see advertising).

In the U.S., the National Institute on Media and the Family (not a government agency) points out that U.S. children watch an average of 25 hours of television per week and features studies showing it interferes with the educational and maturational process.

An article about how to write a movie script

Back when I went to college, I knew I wanted to do something with writing. It wasn’t until later on that I came to the epiphany about writing movies. I then wanted to learn how to write a movie script. Movies have always been a passion of mine. Therefore…

A Little Tour of Nicole Kidman

Wednesday, July 26th, 2006

Nicole Kidman was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and not in Australia as is commonly believed. Her parents were both born in Australia. At this time, her father was a cancer research specialist in Washington, D.C. The family returned to Australia when Nicole was four years old. At age four, she started taking ballet lessons; this naturally led to studies at Sydney’s Australian Theatre for Young People, and then on to the Philip Street Theatre, where she majored in voice production and theatre history.

Learn to play the piano

Saturday, July 22nd, 2006

If you are a musician of any kind, you probably know how useful it is to learn to play piano. Many people who specialize in other instruments learn to play piano to arrange their music. There is not a more complete, versatile instrument than the piano, and so it can be used to arrange for any other instrument. It is probably the most flexible instrument there is, because of the simple keyboard layout which allows you to access any combination of tones at once. If you are not a musician, but have always wanted to be able to play your own songs, forget learning guitar this instant.

If you are learning the guitar, or even if you already are an accomplished guitarist, adding classical guitar music into your repertoire will enhance your enjoyment of the instrument.

It’s true that this type of music has quite a history, dating back to the 16th century, and can appear intimidating when you watch a master at work. But that doesn’t mean you can’t learn classical guitar music at your own pace and enjoy the challenge.
