Thursday, August 31st, 2006

I will admit it. I still have my first Billy Joel Album. My Billy Joel album is not a CD either. It is a real record. The kind that my kids think should be used as plates. I can still remember the day I bought my first Billy Joel Album. I wasn’t much bigger than my kids are now.

Music Lessons

There are two kinds of kids in the world today: those who have music lessons and those who don’t.

Watch for the kid who really wants those music lessons and there is no stopping them as they dedicate their life to something they absolutely love.

This is the one hope parents can hold while going through all the swimming lessons, gymnastics, dance and music lessons, and all the rest we do for our children. Keep it fun and they will keep at it!

A Cigar With Best Compliments

Thursday, August 31st, 2006

To choose cigars to gift it, an individual can find a wide range of varieties of cigar brands at the modest tobacconist or specialty smoke shop. ‘Drugstore’ cigars do not belong to the category of good quality cigar brands. The only advantage of drugstore cigars is that they are inexpensive and convenient to purchase. However drugstore cigars are of the lowest quality and they contain preservatives like saltpeter, paper, glycerin, and other irritants. A good quality cigar contains only 100% tobacco. If while choosing the right brand there is any confusion, especially for the non-smokers, the best option is to consult the salesperson.  An experienced and knowledgeable salesperson has the capacity to ably guide the individual regarding the exact ingredients of the cigar.

The Finer Points of a Literature Review

Wednesday, August 30th, 2006

Generally speaking there are two kinds of literature reviews. The first type is the more informal one, it is a review of a written piece of work, a summary and an evaluation of it. A perfect example is a review of a new book. The first type of literature review has a wider readership because it is more popular, while the second type is the scholarly resource. It is written as a review of a book or textbook but also has some points of reference in a synthesized format.

Casinos and Blackjack

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

Throughout the years, casinos have positioned themselves as centers of entertainment, primarily because of the exhilaration their gambling tables provide.  Hotels have been built around casinos in many areas.  Every nightlife activity has been centered on casino destinations.  The reason is not difficult to fathom.  Casinos bring people in without fail, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week in most cases…

Write A Movie Script Better Than Hollywood Torrent

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006
Is it just me, or are Hollywood film studios really dropping the ball these days? Instead of producing original, creative films that I actually want to see, it appears that most studios are content to churn out sequels and remakes. Something that all-follows the Hollywood movies latest torrent. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve walked out of a theater shaking my head in disappointment at what I just saw and telling myself that I could do better than that if only I could learn the basics about how to Write A Movie Script. A Review of Blade Runner and Other Sci-Fi Favorites

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

When watching Blade Runner you should try not to compare the movie with the book, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? That’s a book written by the best science fiction writer of all time, Philip K. Dick. The mechanical pets are absent but there is a  monologue discussing the absence of real animals in the future in the movie. I agree that the ending is quite different but this is necessary because of the different time and character development.

Online Movie Rentals like Netflix

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

Online movie rental companies are popping up everywhere now. What started just a short while ago as a sort of strange new concept is now quickly becoming a standard in movie renting. Even the big name video rental stores are beginning to start their own online movie rental deals to get in on the action before its too late.

There are some nice benefits in online movie rental deals. The most attractive aspect I think is the fact that there aren’t any late fees. I can’t stand late fees, some movie rental stores can be really annoying about them. You have to pay five bucks just for the privilidge of borrowing their cheaply mass produced DVD that they purchased in bulk for a dollar each, then you are subject to a hefty fee if you’re even a few hours late in returning it. With so many alternative options, such as online movie rentals, I find myself going to video rental stores less and less often.

Another great thing about online movie rentals is the price. For somewhere around 20 dollars a month you can rent as many movies as you can within their fairly generous limits. The limits on online movie rental deals vary, but I’m allowed three movies at any one time with mine….

Bon Jovi Concert Tickets Available

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

I’ve been a rock and roller for my whole life. Entering my late 30s, and still single (ladies, that means I’m here for you), it’s obvious that I know how to party and party hard. So when I go to a rock and roll show, they should reserve tickets for me, automatically. I mean I am the life of the party. But when I checked out Bon Jovi tour dates (Bon Jovi is my favorite rocker of all time), and tried to order tickets, I was in for a surprise. I tried all of the numbers, all of the sites, but there were no Bon Jovi concert tickets left!
Yeah, I know. I should have started looking for Bon Jovi concert tickets before the last minute. Don’t think that normally I wouldn’t, but with the custody battle over my kid and the repossession of my house and everything, things have been a little busy. Anyway, I’ve got dozens of connections in the city. I know roadies, managers and staff in every venue in this state, practically. You’d think that, with all that I’d be able to score some Bon Jovi concert tickets, even if I had to settle for nosebleeds. But no such luck until I found out…

An incandescent candle chandelier, with shadows flickering around it, is truly a spectacular sight. These chandeliers also give a medieval look to the place.

A History of Movie Mainstay MGMMetro-Goldwyn-Mayer

Monday, August 28th, 2006

When you think about the movie industry, not many people really put much stock into the happenings behind the movie. Interestingly enough, it is the studio that easily should be getting all of the recognition for the film, not necessarily the actors or the director. It is the studio that buys the screenplay and from there, they decide who will best be suited to produce the film and who they deem the best possible candidate to direct the film. Then there are many decisions that will need to be made regarding the cast, the location, and just how much the budget will be for the making of the film itself.

Memories and Juke Boxes Go Hand In Hand

Monday, August 28th, 2006

I often spent my free time hanging out after school in the poolhall in our small town. Even though it had quite a few business names through the years, it had always been known as the poolhall. Once it had also been a bar but when I was a teen they no longer served alcohol on the first floor. There were a couple of card tables and some pool tables, as well. The number of pool tables was four and they were located in the main area of the room. On the second floor you could get a meal and order alcohol. The pool hall also had two juke boxes which we often used.
