Through the ages, myths and legends have been passed down to impart wisdom and healing for the spirit. Life can be overwhelming and confusing at times, leaving us uncertain and afraid. Life’s demands can be overpowering. The stories of the Goddesses impart a sense of detachment from our perspectives. We are often the last to be able to solve our problems because we are too close to see them clearly.
The Goddesses honored throughout history and around the world, reveal the many aspects of our feminine spirits through contemporary understanding of their mythic pasts. The Goddesses shed light on our confusion by imparting important insight into women’s intuitive nature, innate dignity and magic. The stories told by the pictures on the cards speak to our souls and reveal the condition of our psyche today. Human experiences are understood through the revelation of the condition of our lives and the world around us. For women seeking the deeper meaning of life, the Goddess Tarot is the perfect medium, speaking directly to women by understanding a woman’s natural experiences, knowledge and instincts. Nonrepresentational or nonobjective art is not an invention of the twentieth century. A number of cultures, like the Islamic and Jewish, have developed over the centuries a high standard of decorative or non-figurative art forms. Today, abstract art is generally understood to be the form of art that does not depict objects in the natural world, but instead uses shapes and colors in a nonrepresentational or subjective way.
According to art experts, in its purest form in Western art, an abstract art is one without a recognizable subject, one which does not relate to something external. This type of ornamental art, without figurative representation occurs today in many cultures. As the modern abstract movement in sculpture and paining emerged in Europe and North America between 1910 and 1920, two approaches have been generally accepted to produce different abstract styles: images that have been “abstracted” from nature to the point where they no longer reflect a conventional reality, and nonobjective, or “pure” art forms, which do not share any reference to reality. A further distinction tends to be made between abstract art which is geometric, such as the work of Piet Mondrian, and abstract art that is more fluid, such as in the works of Wassily Kandinsky. It was Kandinsky who once said that “of all arts, abstract painting is the most difficult. It demands that you know to draw well, that you have a heightened sensitivity for composition and of colors, and that you are a true poet; this last is essential.”

Ever consider how music plays such a large part in our lives? I cannot think of a day when I did not hear music. Whether you have a collection of thousands of CDs or in my case albums or just turn on the radio during your morning commute to work, you are a connoisseur of music.
Do you ever wonder how it gets to you or do you ever wonder who decides what music gets played and what music doesn´t? Do you ever wonder why only certain artists get played or have their music sold in major retail outlets? Has it ever crossed your mind what trends are going to overtake music next? Well the answer to most of these questions lies within the major record labels.
If you love or hate an artist, it´s their record label that you either thank or blame. The major record labels take on new artists and promote the sales of their CDs and/or DVDs. They may also help other companies with tour promotions and other public events.
A recording company will usually take on an artist for a specific length of time or for so many recordings. This depends on the terms of the contract negotiated with the major record labels. If you have ever taken a look at your CD and or DVD collection you´ll probably find that nearly 90% of them come from one of the five major record labels in some way shape or form … [more on major record labels]

There are literally thousands of landscape painters out there, so if you are looking for just the right decorative touch to your house or office, it should be no difficulty to find. It is a natural fact that landscape paintings are seen as desirable by a wide variety of people. Not everyone out there can have their house landscaped in the scenic and appealing fashion, and then many environments that just do not admit a whole lot of nature inside.

In the history of art, around 450 B.C., a new subject takes center stage. The place is Greece and the new subject is the natural man. Man is the measure of all things. Democracy is born. Not the king or his conquest, but the individual man is glorified. Even the gods take on human form. The human body is the object of beauty, new to the history of art, more natural in Greek art, more exaggerated in Roman art where muscular strength is a core value.

You know, I have found that what I consider funny videos today are not what I would have appreciated as funny ten years ago. I just found new movies to laugh out loud at recently that back then I might have found amusing or worth a chuckle. Age is not the factor I point to here in deciding what is funny. What is funny is subjective, and depends upon the mindset, upbringing, and overall experiences of each group or individual, so how about we consider a variety of funny videos in hopes that each of us will agree with at least one offering on the funny videos list?

Why books? Books make the best gifts especially for children. We never throw books away so even if they don’t like the book it will find it’s way into the hands of someone that wants it. All books don’t have to be new either. Used books are just as good as new.

Another benefit when your child begins to learn to play the piano is the power of concentration. Most children have a short attention span, and this can make learning difficult.
When children practice, they have to concentrate to some degree. This is something that will stick with them. They also learn that practice will help them get better, and this can also be applied to the rest of their lives. When they learn to play the piano, they will probably have a set schedule for lessons and practice.
This will also help them with time management, and with learning how to prioritize the things they need to do first.

These days it’s not an unusual sight to see movie-related products on store shelves. I expect that kind of thing from Disney or Pixar movies for sure, but didn’t realize that this type of marketing extended to so many other films as well. For example, I’ve seen so much Napoleon Dynamite merchandise over the last couple years that I finally gave in and watched the movie. I had heard of it of course, but had managed to avoid it because it just didn’t seem like my kind of film. But its popularity definitely had me intrigued, and since there was such great demand for t-shirts and other stuff, I had to see what all the fuss was about.

Reputations have been made in the theatres for composers such as Leonard Bernstein and George Gershwin, who went on to represent everything that is good about American music. Playwrights like Eugene O’Neill and Neil Simon have fond memories of their Broadway New York productions. Recently, critics have been lamenting the lack of straight plays due to the dominance of musicals. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats was the longest running show and then his Phantom of the Opera took over.

Many music videos are available on the Internet for streaming media players, and are recorded for your listening and viewing enjoyment, and in hopes you will buy the upcoming album. A good basis for deciding what is right or wrong is to read what each website says about the videos it’s offering.
Does it invite you to download music videos and save them to your computer? If the option to download is not offered anywhere on the web it’s safe to assume they just want you to buy the album and sample the video. If they encourage you to download music videos, (some artists actually want their videos distributed freely for more exposure) you can download to your heart’s content.

Inkjet printers were born in the 1980s, replacing the popular dot matrix printer. Inkjet printers drop droplets of ink onto printer paper to produce text and images. The drops of ink are actually smaller than the width of a strand of hair, so don’t expect to actually see individual droplets on your printouts. It’s not like the older dot matrix, which produced much larger drops of ink.

Gum disease (also known as periodontal disease), is a subtle but potentially disastrous medical problem that millions of people must contend with each year. Unfortunately, not many people take the time to learn about and prevent gum disease because for years we were told to brush and floss daily in order to prevent tooth decay and the loss of our teeth. Precious little has been done to make people aware of the consequences of gum disease and that plays a large part in the overall ignorance about the condition. Some of the more minor problems that may arise when gum disease prevention is not taken seriously include:
- Halitosis and the worsening of morning breath
- Increased susceptibility to infection and disease
- Potential for lesions or “mouth sores” in oral cavity

Batman Gadgets
Most of the credit for the popularity of Batman gadgets that one sees in toyshops all over the country goes to the television series of the 1960s. The comic strips and the movies did very little to popularize these gadgets that Batman uses to fight criminals.
As the story goes, Batman developed a dislike for guns as his father was killed with one. Batman is not endowed with any superhuman powers, thus the superhero relies more on gadgets rather than anything else.
