After twenty glorious years, Roger Waters and Pink Floyd went their separate ways. Roger forged a solo career, but never seemed as potent as when he’d been with the band. In case you aren’t already aware; there are a number of benefits to owning a dishwasher like if you have a gourmet food store to go with it. One of those benefits is saved time, especially if you have a large family. Whether you just dislike washing dishes by hand or you feel as if your kitchen sink never stops piling up, you could benefit from the use of a kitchen dishwasher. Have a Nice Black Kitchen Island

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

One of the many reasons why kitchen remodeling with the black kitchen island can be termed dangerous is because of the tools that are used. Whether you are replacing your kitchen lights, your kitchen cabinets, or your kitchen flooring, you will likely need to use a collection of tools; tools that may be unsafe if used improperly. That is why it is important that you know all of the tools that you will be using, including their dangers. Although there is a good chance that you have used a box cutter or a saw before, there is also a chance that you haven’t. Before you start your kitchen remodeling project, it may be a good idea to practice with and familiarize yourself with the tools that you will be using. When it comes time to starting your remodeling, you should know how to safely use all of your tools; thus reducing your risk of injury.

Hollywood Propaganda and Other Nonsense

Friday, December 29th, 2006

A number of people contend that secret societies have financed Science Fiction and Science Fantasy films to prepare us for the day when we are overwhelmed by off world beings who are coming to harvest us as food.

My response to this suggestion is: BALONEY! If a secret agency or secret society is financing films like Close Encounters, ET, Mac and Me, and other films considered “pro-alien,” who is financing the anti-alien films such as Predator I and II, Alien I, II, and III, Terminator, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, Body Snatchers, The Thing and others?…

Have a Kitchen Remodeling

Friday, December 29th, 2006

Kitchen remodeling; sounds fun doesnt it? If the idea of remodeling your kitchen sounds exciting, there is a chance that you may want to get started right away. Of course, you can start remodeling your kitchen whenever you want, but first you must develop a plan. That plan should not only include what particular parts of your kitchen you would like changed, but also how you want them changed. For instance, if you are making the decision to replace your old kitchen cabinets and countertops with new ones, you need to choose a new set. In fact, you must choose a new set before you start your project; otherwise, you could be left with a mess. The only problem is that many homeowners, just like you, have a difficult time determining exactly what they want.

Using a Fiber Optic Microscope

Thursday, December 28th, 2006

There are different versions of this type of microscope available. The standard model required the individual using it to look through a standard eye piece. Another and more expensive model comes equipped with a video screen. For someone having the use the fiber optic microscope extensively the latter model would probably be the best choice.

What Is A Binoculars Microscope?

Thursday, December 28th, 2006

The conventional microscope, you see, only deals with flat specimens. Usually, these specimens are in liquid form, and are preserved in between slides. But for a study of a three dimensional specimen which is solid, a different vantage point is needed. And a stereoscopic microscope, with its many distinctive features, is more than up to the task in providing the best image quality possible for such a specimen.

David Suchet as Hercule Poirot in The Dream
David Suchet as Hercule Poirot

I have a great and quite long article all about Hercule Poirot, who  is a fictional Belgian detective who featured in the novels of Agatha Christie. Go to my Hercule Poirot site here.

He has been portrayed on screen by various actors including Albert Finney, Peter Ustinov and most recently, David Suchet.

Poirot has appeared in many novels and short stories. Along with Miss Marple, Poirot is one of Agatha Christie’s most famous characters.

Poirot is still in copyright with Christie’s grandson, Matthew Prichard, who now owns the royalties to his grandmother’s works.

Here’s something new: “Downloadable, Audio Books!”

Monsieur, you could you use some extra francs, per’aps? Read on, mon ami.

Would you enjoy LISTENING to  downloadable books? First, you may listen to a free sample.

Great idea. Put them on blank CDs, or your MP3s and listen and learn, during your dreary drive into work. Wonderful quality and so very inspiring.

Even learn a foreign language whilst you drive, bus, or go by train, or fly to work, instead of wasting your life, swearing at all the bad drivers. Think of your car, bus, train, or aircraft, as your own, personal, ‘University on Wheels’

We have a 5,000 audio book library, on just about every subject and this number is added to almost daily.

Simply click on the search box, at my main audio book site: http://www.booksthatalk.com/

By the way. I’m looking for a small number of affiliates, to place snippets of code on their websites, which may be either banner or text links, but on of any subject. The commission rate I pay you is very good, indeed!

Why You Should Purchase Books Online

Thursday, December 28th, 2006

Do you love to read books? Well, I do but I have always had this problem with bookstores. My problem is that I can never keep my reading list in my head. I always forget which books I want to buy when I go to a bookstore. I usually remember them later, but by then it is always too late because I will be back at home. This is one of the reasons why I prefer to purchase books online instead of buying them on bookstores.

Sound Off if You Love MTV Music

Thursday, December 28th, 2006

A revolution in music programming formats took over the TV screen about two decades ago. This revolutionary change was the MTV music channel. Music videos used to be played between certain shows or during television specials as shorts or fillers prior to the advent of MTV. However, the MTV programming format was an entirely different concept because it features continuous, 24/7 music videos.

Advice for Scoring Front Row Tickets

Thursday, December 28th, 2006

There is always a part of us that hopes that we can score front row tickets every time we plan to attend an event. Of course, not everyone wants to sit up front, but the most of us think it’s the best place to be. Although I do know people who like to sit back and be further from the action on stage, I have to agree that the front seats are best place to be during an event. Nevertheless, not everyone can sit in the front seats. You may not get what you are hoping for, even if the seats you want are further back when the public ticket sales begin for any event.

Rare Marilyn Monroe Pictures Show The Person, Not Just the Star

Thursday, December 28th, 2006

I have seen over the years some gorgeous, stunning, and rare Marilyn Monroe pictures that seem more representative of the Marilyn Monroe who was a person, too.  One of my favorites is the shot of her working out.  She is laying with her back to the bench press, holding small dumbbells up in front of her.  She is dressed in jeans and a bathing suit top.  The photo is black and white, shot by Phillipe Halsman in Hollywood in 1952.  Simple, real.

You Choose Direct TV, DISH Or Cable Service

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006

According to the Kaptain Satellite website (http://www.kaptainsatellite.com), during 2005 DirecTV gained more than a million new subscribers, as did the Dish Network. Many of them moved to a direct TV service from a cable provider. So what comparisons can be made between these three different providers? With many features, both DirecTV and the Dish Network are on a level par. They both offer free equipment and installation by professional satellite TV installers. They have a much cheaper program rate than cable, at least 50% cheaper at the basic level of subscription.

Why Direct TV

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006

Why Direct TV? Because it is beamed directly to the little receiver on top of your house. Or hanging off the balcony. Or even inside, pointing through a skylight or window. Does Direct TV fade out in bad weather? Well, yeah. Though they’d like us to think it doesn’t. Just about as much as cable, which also gets most of its feeds from a satellite. But believe me, if it gets that bad, the Direct TV reception will be the last thing on your mind.

Parental Controls On DirecTV

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006

Some parents choose to only allow children to view programs pre-recorded from satellite TV or cable. Devices, such as the DirecTV DVR (digital video recorder), make it possible for parents to record and play only the shows they feel are appropriate for their children. But is there a way to monitor what’s on live satellite TV or cable? Use Parental Controls.

Wedding Bridal Games for All

Tuesday, December 26th, 2006

But if you want to do something a little different, there are options. You can go the video route, which asks people to essentially make a toast on camera and then the video is given to the bride and groom later. This isn’t a particularly unique idea, but it does solve the issue of not wanting to put people on the spot and still gives everyone a chance to say something special to the bride and groom even before the wedding bridal games.

Wedding Reception Activities and More

Tuesday, December 26th, 2006

Each guest receives either a personalized wine bottle filled with red, white or sparkling varieties. Some of my guests love the bottles but arent really fond of wine or any alcoholic beverage. The labels can be used with sparkling grape juice as well. This is a great option for the casual affair and wedding reception activities.

Beautiful Colored Wedding Gown

Tuesday, December 26th, 2006

What you choose for your wedding songs will be what makes you happy. This seems like common sense, but some brides and groom bow under the pressure of family when it comes time to choose music for their ceremonies. For the most part, a couple has a song they use for their first dance at their reception, but when it comes to ceremony music, there are and can be problems. Try to remember that this is your wedding day, and that no matter what mom says, or how many tears she sheds, you should be able to choose your own wedding songs. If you dont, you are going to look back at your colored wedding gown with disappointment.

Online Buying Satellite TV Equipment Who Installs

Tuesday, December 26th, 2006

Recent years have seen an explosion in the popularity of the small sized satellite dishes for picking up television stations. The new Directv dishes are easier to install and use than the old large dishes. And in many cases they are installed free when you sign a contract to pay the monthly fee for a year or two. While there are likely to be a number of local merchants dealing in DISH TV and Directv (many deal in both at the same time), there are many more online.

Today’s homeowners take great pride in the appearance of their homes. And no wonder, considering the investment made in time and money when maintaining that yard and home exterior. Local Channels On DIRECTV

Tuesday, December 26th, 2006

A big question about satellite TV service involves getting the “free” local channels. Either the objection is that they are charging for them or you can’t get them at all. And DIRECTV installers agree that sometimes can’t receive all the channels you’re paying for. If your only location for the dish is blocked by your neighbor’s tree or home, you won’t get some channels. Dishes work by line-of-sight with satellites far above the earth’s atmosphere.

How Does Direct TV Work

Tuesday, December 26th, 2006

Though small compared to the first satellite receivers, the DirecTV dishes provide an amazing variety of entertainment. Your direct TV network satellite dish receives transmitted signals from 6 high-power satellites. These satellites are known as, DBS-1, DBS-2, DIRECTV 1-R, D4-S, DIRECTV 5, and finally DirecTV 6. The satellite TV technology used by Direct TV is so sophisticated that one of these satellites is capable of transmitting specific channels to pre-designated areas of the U.S. This allows for local channels, as well as national and international ones, to be picked up and beamed out throughout the United States.

HDTV High Definition Television By DirecTV And DISH

Tuesday, December 26th, 2006

High definition TV (HDTV) provides a higher quality picture on your home television set than standard services. Regular TV, which travels over the airwaves, is also known as analog TV. The quality, or resolution, of the picture you see is defined by the number of scan lines transmitted. HD Directv satellite TV pictures have almost twice the number of scan lines as a regular TV set.

Flat Panel Televisions

Tuesday, December 26th, 2006

The third concern with conventional television screens using the cathode ray tube is the fact that they are rather unsuitable as aesthetic elements and refuse to be integrated into the overall interior design of the living rooms. Which is why most of the older houses, and some of the present day houses which continue to use the conventional televisions, continue to have a dedicated television viewing corner that adamantly refuses to integrate into the overall design scheme. But flat panel televisions lend themselves to excellent integration.

Online DVD Movie Rental

Monday, December 25th, 2006

Various payment plans are available for online DVD movie rentals. You can pay for each movie separately, but more often you pay a fixed monthly fee and watch as many movies as you like. Some payment plans allow you to rent movies only in certain categories. The number of DVD movies you can order at any one time is usually limited to three or four.
Films are often ready for rent within months of their theatrical debut. Many people prefer to wait for a movie to come out on DVD instead of watching it in the local cinema.
