A New Generation of Classic Rock Fans

November 21st, 2007

To some of us, "Classic Rock" is the music we grew up listening to. As one of the "baby boomer" crowd, that is certainly true for me.

My favorites growing up with groups like Rush, Kansas, Yes and Heart. I sometimes wonder what happened to all those old vinyl LP albums I had but somewhere along the way I lost track of them. When the CD was invented, I guess I focused on getting all my music on that new scratch-free audio medium.

What’s kind of cool to see these days is a kind of resurgence of the music I grew up with. Classic rock stations are in just about every radio market and bands from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s are doing reunion tours in front of huge crowds.

It’s nice to see that the music of my generation is not falling out of favor just yet. It brings a smile to my face every time I see some high school kid with a Led Zeppelin T Shirt or an AC/DC baseball cap.
