Shakespeare was certainly on the cutting edge of theater, and now you can be, too. Use this fine quality wooden tome for slicing and dicing and then store it on the shelf with your cookbooks! It’s 6″ x 9.5″, constructed from solid hard beechwood, pre-seasoned with a light dressing of mineral oil, and nicely shrink-wrapped. A charming hostess gift from Atypyk Paris!

Dorothy and her cute doggy Toto do not try to find way home from behind the rainbow any more after an English rock band Pink Floyd gave their own version of Pink Floyd Wizard of Oz, Dark Side of the Rainbow.
Wait! Wizard of Oz, an MGM movie, was made 1939 – according to my son, in the ancient times. To be truth, Pink Floyd’s 1973 album, The Dark Side of the Moon, lies for him in the same ancient times.
Now, on the more serious note: Dark Side of the Rainbow aka Dark Side of Oz aka The Wizard of Floyd, is some sort of synchronization between classic MGM movie and Pink Floyd album. One watches the film and listens to music at the same time. Many believe that the movie and the music somehow correspond with each other.

In the past, locating the right kind of free music download sites used to be accomplished with great difficulty. Up until fairly recently there were only two kinds of music download sites – free music download sites (the good ones) and fee-based music download sites (the legal ones). The major record companies have long contended that free music download sites have been cutting into their record sales, therefore, they have fought long and hard to keep you from attaining free music downloads online. As a matter of fact, they have attempted to get any unlimited free music downloads site shut down (without much success) anytime they find one of their artists on that music download site. Understandably, they are trying to protect their business interests, by preventing unlimited free music downloads which can cut into their profits.

If you are a true music lover then you love all types of music. You love it while cruising in your car on warm summer nights, or for relaxing background music, when all you want to do is chill for a bit, or for shaking your booty at your favorite slammin’ night club. There are countless types of music from across the globe, but for many years, Pop music has been the world’s most popular form of music. An off-shoot of Rock n’ Roll, Pop music not only sells the most records and albums but Pop music also makes up most of what we listen to on our radio’s by far. Free Pop music downloads as well as fee based Pop music downloads make up the majority of all music downloads on the Internet.

Netflix seems to have come up with a great idea, but apparently, downloading movies only works well for customers who own fast computers with a big hard drive and a broadband connection. Not all of Netflix’s potential customers has enough speed, enough hard drive space or a broadband connection on their PC for
movie downloads. Unless you have a quick PC that is attached to extremely fast Internet connection, movie downloads can take a long time. However, if you plan your movie downloads to begin prior to going to bed, or going shopping or to work, this is something someone can do and not even notice the long wait. An inexpensive external hard drive will give plenty of space on your computer to store all of your movie downloads. Here is something you should know: Netflix has made it so after watching your movie downloads a few times, you won’t be able to copy it.

A book from a retired writer for the Des Moines Register has the title “Iowa is the most fun you can have in the US” and chronicles the many Iowa vacations that the author has taken over the years. Throughout his lifetime he has never been out of the state and every year he went to a different place for his vacation. The vacations changed over the years, starting with just he and his wife, then adding kids one by one, then subtracting the kids one by one, sometimes adding a kid and a kid-in-law, and finally ending with his last vacation alone after the death of his beloved wife. The book is very well written with lots of humor and lots of kid stories such as the camping trip when the kids brought a kitty into the tent. The kitty was all black with a white stripe down the middle of it’s back. The story is told from the perspective of being alone on the last vacation and taking that vacation to look back at all the good time he and his family enjoyed. Although the ending is a bit sad I say it is recommend reading as you will laugh till you cry at most of the adventures.

I received emails from both Nicole of the baking sheet and debbie of words to eat by this past week, “tagging” me for the food blogging meme, music to cook to. My first thought was “I don’t listen to a great deal of music…and I don’t know anything about music anymore”, and I passed the task along to S. and his extensive music tastes and knowledge. He diligently answered the questions and then sent his writing along to me.
I sat on that email for a few days, indulging myself in Sugar High Fridays (great job, Clement!) and making dinner for a good friend on Saturday night (recipes to come later). I thought about it more and more and realized that the questions, though slightly foreign to me (why, I don’t know, I did used to work in a record store for crying out loud!), were directed at the food blogger in the house. And, although I have tried to convince S. to start a food blog himself he has yet to do that…and having him answer the questions for me was taking the easy way out.
So I redid them myself. Try not to be disappointed.

Broadcasting digital radio via satellite is not something new and concepts of doings this have been with us for a few years. From the early days of satellite radio, companies like Dish Network have offered digital audio channels as part of their programs. The breakthrough in popularity of satellite radio, however, happened just recently, when the technology became more permissive. Satellite radio was very rare on moving locations, such as boats or cars, mostly because there was the need for some expensive equipment – a tracking dish. This was a strong deterrent which kept satellite radio quite unknown by the general public. Today, however, one can receive digital audio satellite broadcasts by using a small, GPS-like antenna. This greatly increased the feasibility of the satellite radio systems and more and more vehicle owners began considering satellite radios as a good source of music and news.

A well known author is just finishing up the final pages of a book on central Iowa tourism that he has been working on for two years now. He did all the research on the book himself by finding every attraction and restaurant in the central Iowa area and visiting them himself or with his family. He is an avid camper so he would find a local campground and not only would he write about that he would use that campground as a central point to visit all the attractions in the area. He used the information supplied by the campground workers to find the hidden treasures of that particular area. He ate no meals at the campsite as he was also reviewing the restaurants in the area. One thing that surprised him was the number of museums that were scattered around the state. It felt like there was some kind of a museum in every other small town and the things they were dedicated to were quite varied. Some of them were dedicated to such things as salt and pepper shakers or old telephones. Most were just dedicated to the past of the community but those were quite interesting as well.

Lindsay Lohan poses naked in the latest New York Magazine. The photo spread is a restaging of Marilyn Monroe’s last photo shoot. Lohan has been the target of gossip columnists and stupid programs such as Entertainment Tonight for quite some time now. This can only add more fuel to the fire.

I picked up a good book the other day and I really enjoyed reading about what was essentially east Iowa tourism. The story was about a couple who put their boat in the Mississippi river at the Minnesota border and planned to live in the boat for the entire summer. As they floated down the river they stopped at different restaurants and attractions each of which they rated. From what I understand from the book people all along the river like to place their top of the line restaurants where their patrons can have a view of the mighty Mississippi. Many of the places they stopped actually had a dock where people could tie their boats and either go inside or some would actually bring the food and drink out to the boat. During the sleep hours they seemed to have no problem finding a desolate area along the bank and tie up the boat for the night. It took them almost three months to make the trip as some places like the Quad Cities had so much to offer that they spent an entire week there. Other places they would just float through only leaving the boat long enough to grab a bite to eat

Did you know that you can now Watch Satellite Program on PC? Some methods are free, some are not.
Free Methods: Online TV streaming sites like ChannelChooser or WWITV actually allow you to watch TV on your computer for free. Unfortunately, their bandwidth is stretch to the limit and it affects speed and quality.
Paid Methods: You could purchase a pirated television card from eBay. These devices intercept and un-encrypt the feeds from broadcasting stations. But their lifespan is short as the TV providers are constantly updating their jamming and encryption code.
The legal way to watch TV on your PC is to use a PCTV Hardware card or PC Satellite TV software. The hardware card cost $300-$400 and you need to pluggin to a USB port or fix it to your motherboard. The most popular way is still the software route. It is a one time purchase of $50 and you can receive up to 3000 channels worldwide.

The local PBS station wanted to do a special on Missouri so they loaded up the van and headed towards the state. On the first rest stop once they crossed the border they picked up a Missouri tourist guide and started looking at the attractions. They decided a trip to Branson might be just the thing as it was reasonably long drive and they could film quite a bit of the countryside and show how it changes from north to south. They started filming once they got to Kansas City showcasing the parts of big city seen as one drives along 435. When they exited on the south side they carefully documented how the city flows to the suburbs and how the suburbs flow into the country. Starting out was mostly prairie which slowly changed to more forest. The small towns were chronicled also. The further they went the more trees and hills there were and the views became more spectacular. They actually bypassed Branson showing the changing scenery as they drove up into the Ozark mountains. After having all that footage they returned to Branson and highlighted some of the shows and events there. Rather than a documentary I think they actually filmed a commercial for Missouri.

I found a wonderful book for entertainment in South Dakota. Now I’ve never taken any South Dakota vacations but after reading this book I just may have to try one. The book chronicled a jazz musician who was down on his luck and got stranded in Sioux Falls. He had no one to rely on so he had to find employment in the entertainment industry around the city to earn enough to buy a car so he could make it back home. The book talks about all the establishments he went to on his quest. The story was fictional, but the author did his homework and actually visited every entertainment venue he could find in the city. Jazz is not big in Sioux Falls so he only found two places where he could find jazz musicians on a regular basis. He interviewed all of them that he could get to talk and came up with some wonderful behind the scene stories. He also did a wonderful job describing the art that these musicians share with the world. The joints may be seedy, but the booze flows and the crowd enjoys what is described as “some of the best jazz this side of New Orleans.

Protecting our homes and our families from danger and hostile intruders means finding ways of accomplishing this. While there are many ways to stop an intruder or burglar from coming towards our doors and windows, we need other defenses so that our doorways cant become easy access paths for these people. One item that we can use is that of security doors.
While these security doors may look like our ordinary insect repelling mesh doors or even normal front doors, this is not the reality. For these doors are constructed of material that makes it difficult for an intruder to breakdown. There are also security features that are built into the door. So anyone who wants to force open the door by disabling any wires will have some problems.

I have found that regardless of how much we want to keep our documents locked safely away in our cupboards and computer storage CDs, there are always times when we will need to print these documents out. To help make this job faster and less of a hassle you can use a printer. Now for documents that require only black ink you can use a printer toner to make sure that you get the job done.
Since these printer toners are for use only with black ink type of documents, you should see about using another printer or copier for your color document printing. To select the type of printer toner that will give you the type of quality that is needed you will need to see what your printer model details are.
The reason is that with so many makes of printers around the various cartridge and toner manufacturers have created an array of toners that you can use. Some of these toners will work with many different printers.

Modern kitchens can range from anything under the sun that the person considers to encompass all that is new in this world, to something which looks like it should ideally belong in a space shuttle. What you choose to put in your kitchen depends entirely on your discretion and your tastes.
Whether you prefer the gleaming silver and white of the ultra modern kitchens, or the monochromatic black and white of the sophisticated modern kitchens, or even if you prefer something like the cross-over modern kitchens where old meets new, what you’ll ultimately get is a modern kitchen to your own standards.
There’s much to be said for modern kitchens and much to be avoided if your first love of interior design is more along the lines of wood and brass, with old-fashioned fittings and applicable furnishings. Then again we can’t live in the past forever and a little bit of the modern mixed in with the old is good and can yield surprising results.
To that end modern kitchens can be very nice if only you give them a try. There are quite a few aspects of the modern kitchens design which is handy and something that looks like it will last the time and effort of the modern interior design revolution.

The topic of interior design history is a fascinating one and something that should really be explored at leisure. There are so many things to go through that you’d be surprised at just how long and colorful that history is. From the wild seventies to the bold eighties to the toned down nineties interior design history has come a long way. But that’s not all.
If you dig deeper you’ll also find that interior design history goes back longer than just the sixties or the seventies. It spans centuries and it spans continents, and it is admittedly one of the more fascinating aspects of human life. You can tell a lot about a culture by the interior designs for that particular time, and you can tell a lot about the people by how they have gone about designing their homes.

If you love decorating and you love a challenge then you’ll love the challenge of decorating on a budget. There’s nothing quite like fighting your impulses to buy everything you see just so that you keep to your budget, and trying to get everything you need to decorate your house without breaking your budget. It is a losing battle I can tell you that much.
Sometimes the desire to buy the amazing things you see in the home improvement stores can be almost overwhelming. There isn’t too much that you can do about that except to move on as quickly as possible on to the next item on your list.
That said, decorating on a budget can be quite fun if you can manage to loosen up a bit and not drool all over the expensive items. There are many inexpensive items you can buy that will look like their expensive cousins if they’re displayed properly.
