Choosing an Acoustic Guitar

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

The term “acoustic guitar” is a retronym, because all guitars were obviously acoustic. It wasn’t until the invention of the electric guitar that a distinction became necessary.

Acoustic guitar refers to a hollow-bodied guitar without electric amplification. Six strings composed of either nylon or steel produce corresponding frequencies of open notes E, A, D, G, B, and E.

More Expensive Guitars
The top plates of more expensive guitars are made of spruce or cedar, and the back and sides are often made from Brazilian rosewood, maple, or mahogany because these woods are very hard and contribute to a brighter sound.

Lower priced guitars:
Typically combine solid tops with laminated backs and sides, and entry level guitars are made entirely of laminated wood.

Numerology or Astrology, which one’s right for you?

Numerology or Astrology, which one’s right for you?

Obviously as a practicing Numerologist I’m going to say Numerology.

Apart from my loyalty to my profession and passion for the subject, I do also have very good reasons to back up what I say.

Take twins, for example, who’d both like a chart prepared & let’s compare both ancient sciences.

Using Astrology; the twin’s birthdates would obviously be the same & so how different would their charts actually be? I know Astrologers take the time of birth into consideration too but let’s face it, that’s only usually a few minutes apart & the planets won’t have moved that much in such a short space of time.

So, even though the twins would be separate individuals with very separate personalities, their charts would be practically identical!

However, when using Numerology, you would get very different and unique charts. Granted that their Destiny numbers would be the same (as this is derived from their date of birth) but the rest of the numbers in their charts would be very different. This is because of their individual names and the numbers that are derived from the letters in each name.

Interpreting their individual names using Numerology would indicate their unique personality traits, strengths and weaknesses and karmic lessons. Providing; in my opinion, a far more accurate and thorough chart.

A Night Around The Poker Table

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

For a long time, I have looked for a way to get all my friends together every week to hang out and catch up with each other. We tried having a pool night, but that didn’t work. My friend Mickey, you see, hates pool. He is notoriously clumsy and nearsighted, and cannot hit a ball to save his life. We couldn’t come up with a movie night, because we couldn’t all agree on movies. Finally, we decided to have a poker night. Although none of us are big gamblers, or even big card players, nonetheless we thought it was a good social occasion. We would all get together, have a few drinks around the folding poker table, and catch up on the week’s happenings.

I went down in the basement and found all my poker supplies. I had a poker chip set and a folding poker table that was ancient. It had been in the family since I was a kid. It was my dad’s folding poker table. I remember sitting at it when I was a child, watching all the men sit there with serious faces, staring at their cards. It had been in the family for even longer than that, I suspected. There were stained all over the folding poker table and dents in the legs. For a moment, I contemplated getting a different fold up poker table. I knew that folding poker tables were cheap, and it did not look like this one would last long. Nonetheless, I am always loathe to get rid of something that still works well. I decided to keep it.

My friend Sam actually commented on my folding poker table on the first night. He is a notorious neat freak, completely anal-retentive and grossed out by anything that is the slightest bit out of order. When he saw the cracks and stains on the folding poker table, he looked downright squeamish. I didn’t care. I thought that if my table had him rattled, so much the better.

You see, Sam is a mathematical genius. I expected him to be great at cards because he is great at anything that involves mathematical reasoning. Nonetheless, when we sat down in the folding chairs and dealt a few hands, it became clear that Sam could not hold his own. Although he probably understood cards in theory, when it came down to the actual game he could not think clearly. I Ended up as the big winner that night.

Games For Nintendo Wii

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

Through the days of GameCube, GameBoy, Entertainment System and the DS line, there was really little between the likes of Nintendo, Microsoft (Xbox) and Sony (PS) in video gaming. That was until the Wii came along, and then BANG! By now, few true-blue video gamers would dispute that Nintendo Wii has clearly surged ahead.

The magic of Nintendo Wii Games is not as much in the games per se as it is in the way they are played. The intuitive remote controller is enabled by its unique motion sensing technology in 3-D, giving it the feeling of the real thing, complete with actual bodily motion and exercise as opposed to the traditional video game serving of buttons and joysticks, always played seated.

Games For Nintendo Wii are sold mainly through the games store. They can also be purchased and downloaded from Wii Virtual Console. Of late, heavy-duty Wii gamers are increasingly turning to third-party online download services especially for the new mainstream games. These download service providers appear to be quite a savvy alternative, at least in terms of cost.

Internet Slide Shows Are Awesome

Monday, July 14th, 2008

Ultimately, it is enjoyable to look into someone else’s life. It seems to me that the reason why the slideshow was so dreaded in the past was that people were forcibly subjected to it. Watching slide shows in the dark at someone’s house is one thing. No one likes to be lectured to endlessly. Being able to look at them on your own time, along with text captions and nice music, is another.
Online slideshows are tremendously popular nowadays, and they are gaining popularity practically every day. Almost everyone I know has a photo bucket account Or a MySpace website to share their photographs with their friends And family. People look at pictures of their favorite bands, their best friends, and even long-lost acquaintances.

If You Want To Be An American Idol Winner – Read This!

Sunday, July 13th, 2008

My suggestion to you is to watch the ballad songs. Granted, ballads when sung right are very beautiful to hear and can be extremely popular with the audience, but the ballads very slow tempo also makes it much more likely to be forgotten by that same audience the minute you walk off stage. How many times have you seen an audience come out of their seats with thunderous applause after listening to a ballad? To become an American Idol winner, you will need songs that will get the audience moving. In that way you will make a connection with them. An audience that is moving with your song is much more likely to connect with you and remember you, as will the American Idol judges. And, that might be enough to make you an American Idol winner.

The Rebel With The Coolest Shirts

Monday, July 7th, 2008

Christopher Wicks, owner and designer of English Laundry, was born a child of the sixties in Manchester, England. His childhood pastime of sketching shirts, shoes, and guitars became a life-long career in designing men’s and women’s apparel. At 22 years old, Chris designed men’s formal shirts for one of England’s largest gentlemen’s shirt manufacturers. His brand is the hottest men’s shirts on the market and is in huge demand all over the world.

I am very excited to tell you about a virtual promotion that we are running with Chris’s elite brands of clothing including, English Laundry, Jimi Hendrix, Fender and Da Vinci. He will go through the history of the concepts of these brands and will even be giving away almost $1000 in apparel to a select few that participate in this event. I will also be making some exciting announcements that only those that attend will be getting a sneak peek at before the whole world finds out.

Tips For Contestants Of American Idol Auditions

Sunday, July 6th, 2008

Personally, there is no way I would have gone out for American Idol auditions myself if not for the fact that I have had a lot of experience going to music auditions before, as well as a few gigs. I am not exaggerating when I say, an American Idol audition is probably one of the most stressful auditions or tryouts that you could possibly have. Imagine having to audition on a nationally televised program in front of some very tough American Idol judges. Look, just a normal audition is tough enough, but this kind of tryout is unbelievably nerve wracking to say the least.
