BBC Confirms David Tennant Leaving Doctor Who
October 29th, 2008The BBC is confirming rumors of David Tennant leaving Doctor Who. The actor has played the 10th incarnation of the Timelord known as the Doctor in the long-running BBC science fiction series.
The series returned in 2005 after a 16 year hiatus with Christopher Eccleston playing the ninth Doctor, but he regenerated into David Tennant’s tenth Doctor at the end of the first new season. Tennant has played the part to great acclaim ever since.
Fans are sad to see him leave the series, but will be able to see him in the role for a little over a year, as he will appear in the Christmas special this year, as well as four specials in 2009.
