Halo: Combat Evolved was released in 2000 and is considered by many as one of the best first-person shooters that is available for a console. The gamer plays as the character called Master Chief. Although he’s been dubbed by many as the silent warrior he is accompanied by an AI companion who goes by the name Cortana. Through Cortana the gamer learns a lot of background information during game play and she also provides a lot of comedic relief.
Due to the impact and wide success of these games, the Halo franchise was dubbed as ‘Halo Nation’. Novels and written novels have been released regarding the game allowing gamers all around the world to acquire more background information about the Halo series. Even though Halo is for Xbox only, the games have begun to be released on the PC. Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 are currently available for the PC while gamers patiently await the release of Halo 3 for their home PC’s.
