Music Contests
September 23rd, 2008With the popularity of American Idol, more and more people have been turning to music contests as a way to try to get discovered. Although the show centers around a music competition featuring singing as the primary activity, most music contests actually focus around songwriting and lyrics. They also don’t have as much of a performance aspect as American Idol. Sending in a demo tape, performing with a simple four piece band, or even just writing down some lyrics and sending them in is often enough for most of these competitions.
