Who are the First Doctor and the Second Doctor?

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

Doctor Who today is more popular than ever before, but what about its history? The second Doctor, Patrick Troughton broke new ground back in the mid 1960s when he had to take over from William Hartnell, the first Doctor.
It’s hard to imagine today what the reaction must have been when the main character of the popular show transformed in front of their eyes into a different person, but Troughton was the right one to cast and the show continued for another twenty years. Doctor Who fans everywhere can be happy with the new success of the revived series, but it was the work of the first and second Doctor who set the stage for everything that came later.

This echo award is for artists representing rock/pop and folk music but every year in autumn there is the classic Echo which is for classic artists only. Since 2001 the Pop- Echo takes place in Berlin every year but the location for the Classic-Echo changes every year.
Tickets are available starting from 49 Euros (standing). Have a look on the official homepage echopop.de to see where you can buy the tickets. There you can also find more nominees in other categories.

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

If you didn’t watch this performance art and/or gigantic public meltdown, you missed out on probably the most memorable interview on late night television of the year outside of Obama. Is Joaquin acting? Is he deep in a part? A known method actor – where one immerses themselves fully in the character – Joaquin may just have the last laugh.

Wideneck Tee

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

Somewhere between the oh-so-awesome-yet-sort-of-douchey- v-neck t-shirt and the traditional-yet-Grandpaesque crew neck shirt there lies a mid point. A mid point, that until now, did not have a name.

And lo – they called it: the Wide neck Tee.

While the v-neck is enjoying a pretty good run right now, it should be noted that it won’t work for a lot of people. And for other, the simple regular crew neck just doesn’t look right. Now, while the wide neck tee is in no way for everybody, it may just cover the 10% of guys that want a v-neck feel without either looking like an artist from Brooklyn or Hank Hill. Or, like me, you simply have a gigantic head and need a wide neck hole to make your look at least vaguely human.
