In a recent press release, Panasonic introduced four new bluray disc players. The players launched includes the 3D capable Panasonic DMP-BDT350. It will need to be teamed up with a 3DTV and a pair of 3D glasses. The BDT350 has received the esteemed CES Innovations Award. It handles 3D Bluray, upscale DVD and standard audio CD, and comes with the standard Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD decoding. It also incorporates an SD memory card slot for digital photos and video playback, BD-Live and the VIERA Cast range of online streaming media.
Panasonic has also made a commitment to make their products more environmental friendly. All the new BD players comes with a Power Save function that automatically turns off the player when you want to only watch TV.
Panasonic have also released 3 regular bluray disc players. Model numbers are the Panasonic DMP-BD45, the mid-range Panasonic DMP-BD65 and the upper end Panasonic DMP-BD85. The BD45 is a basic level player, and does not have networking functions. The BD65 and BD85 is almost identical in features, including HD audio decoding, VIERA Cast online streaming media, an SD memory card slot, 96kHz audio surround re-mastering for improved CD performance and Panasonic’s PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus image processing technology. What separates the BD85 is built-in Wi-Fi, DivX video support via the SD card slot, 7.1 analogue audio outputs, an HDMI Jitter Purifier, gold-plated terminals, a 192kHz-24 bit D/A converter and something called a Digital Tube Sound Simulator, which is said to recreate the sound from a tube amplifier.
Panasonic have solved the age old problem of long waiting times for the bluray discs to load. Their engineers have improved on the the start-up time to just 14 seconds. Impressive numbers indeed.
