Four hundred manuscript pages of Huckleberry Finn were written in the summer of 1876, right after the publication of Tom Sawyer. Some accounts have Twain taking seven years off after his first burst of creativity, eventually finishing the book in 1883. Other accounts have Twain working on Finn in tandem with The Prince and the Pauper and other works in 1880 and other years.

Near the end of Huckleberry Finn, Twain had written Life on the Mississippi, which is said to have heavily influenced the former book. The work recounts Twain’s memories and new experiences after a 22 year absence from the Mississippi. The rescue is successful and Reacher races away from danger and delivers the young man safely to his home on the coast of Maine. The last line of the first chapter pulls the rug out from under the reader and you can’t wait to turn the page.

….. OK, this is just a humor audio book I found by exploring the listing of audio book authors. This is really fun, I chose ‘Graham Duff’ (never heared about this author before) and got catapulted into the year 2099… ‘Nebulous‘ is a humor audiobook that tries to laugh about something serious. It’s very clever and is sure to get you thinking, either immediately or then after you had a good laugh……….

She was becoming depressed with her impairment and the restrictions that it placed on her reading passion. She goes on to reveal how she was introduced to audio books, or talking books, by a friend and found out about the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped and Library of Congress service. From these people she received a cassette player and a good selection of audio books in cassette format and from that day onwards her life improved.

Although cassettes are being superseded by CDs and downloadable digital audio books and no doubt offering more resources to this lady it is a nice story about the problems that some people face which are not realized by the majority of people.Read more at AudioBookGoBlog
