I was looking for some entertainment around the state so I was browsing the Minnesota vacation rentals and then cross-referencing their locations to the local shows. There are quite a few places with local bands and some of the locals are really quite good. I can order an adult beverage and sit and listen to them for hours. It’s a great way to wile away an evening. The other thing I was looking for was movies. I am a movie junkie at heart. Most of the movies I actually watch on DVD at home, but when you are looking for a night out that trip to an actual theater is a whole different experience. Even though I have a surround sound system, the quality of the sound along with the big screen experience can not be beat. I have a small camcorder that I carry with me. It’s great for videoing the bands. Most of them don’t allow that so you have to be a little sneaky in the way you get it into the venue. You also have to be careful as to the way you film. Getting caught can be cause for your removal. Sometimes even your permanent banishment from the establishment.

When I first got my mini DV video camera, it was extremely high tech. It was the best technology at the time, in fact. DVD video cameras were basically an extension of the old camcorder technology. Unlike camcorders, however, they could take truly high-resolution images. The DVD video camera resolution was unheard of at that time. Best of all, the DVD video camera was much smaller than the camcorder I used to use. If you have ever used one of those old VHS camcorders, you know what I’m talking about.

The great thing is that even though there is the traditional and very expensive type of movie camera that is used in big movie making, you can use just about anything to make videos. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to make something just for you. If you want make something to present to others, you may have to spend more money to get a quality item. Look for something professional. If you just want to make home movies, you may be able to use your digital camera, though it’s not always practical. This can be a movie camera however, if you take your clips and upload them to your computer. You can edit them together if you have video editing software and save them on a CD to share with family and friends.
