Business Success of Hank Freid Hotel in New York
Wednesday, May 16th, 2007After designing on the successes of his first two projects, Freid showed astonishing insight when, in 1990, he obtained the Ameritania Hotel on 54th Street and Broadway, next to the Ed Sullivan Theater, where the Late Show with David Let terman is filmed. “At the time, people were afraid to walk on 54th and Broadway,” he recalls. “I firmed to take a possibility because I was young and had nothing to misplace.” The risk quickly paid off. After some maintenance, Freid began incriminating guests $99 per night to reside at the hotel. In the limit of three years, CBS bought the Ed Sullivan Theater, and the district buzzed with action.

Animal Books That Children Adore
Thursday, April 19th, 2007There is something fascinating about animals. We all love them (well, most of us), but children seem to be especially enamored with fuzzy, little faces. Perhaps they like them because so many of them are the same size as they are, and perhaps because animals are so interestingly different.

The Goon Show - Not Quite Establishment
Friday, April 6th, 2007The Goon Show was sometimes cited as very entertaining without having to resort to sexual innuendo like a lot of modern comedy… but it’s all in the mind of the listener:
Reputedly due to his dislike of rules imposed by the establishment, Milligan spent a lot of time working allusions to rude and/or sexual barrack room jokes into his scripts. These were instantly recognised by his peers and went completely over the heads of the BBC and other innocent listeners. …..read more at The Goon Show - Not Quite Establishment
Climate Change: Soon New Names For Months: Octember and Janril
Saturday, February 24th, 2007The year is 2099. And in a post apocalyptic England, things will never be the same again. Cattle-clasm has wiped out the majority of our livestock, the year has been restructured to include new months such as Octember and Janril, and there’s even a new season: Hamble, which falls between Spring and Summer and is generally drizzly.
Meanwhile, Professor Nebulous - a brilliant, if eccentric eco-conscious scientist - is determined to get Mother Earth back on the right track.
….. OK, this is just a humor audio book I found by exploring the listing of audio book authors. This is really fun, I chose ‘Graham Duff’ (never heared about this author before) and got catapulted into the year 2099… ‘Nebulous‘ is a humor audiobook that tries to laugh about something serious. It’s very clever and is sure to get you thinking, either immediately or then after you had a good laugh……….

One of the Classic Cartoons of Our Time - Spider-Man
Thursday, February 8th, 2007The first animated cartoon was named Spider-Man, it was shown on the ABC network from 1967 to 1970. When the animation company that made the show went belly-up, animator Ralph Bakshi took over. Anyone who recalls this series is sure to remember the poor quality of the animation, due in part to a very humble budget. The voice of Spider-Man was done by a man named Paul Soles. In the early 1970’s, Spider-Man made some guest appearances on the popular children’s show The Electric Company. Rather than speaking, Spider-Man used thought bubbles…

Who is Your Favorite Animation Character
Wednesday, January 24th, 2007Do you love cartoons and animated films? Well, I do and they are my favorite means of entertainment. When I was young, I would always rush home from school to see my favorite animation character on TV. In this modern day and age, animation is much more sophisticated. The painstakingly hand drawings of the last decade has been replaced by computer aided images. Nevertheless, I still like everything whether is the lush colors of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves or the latest state of the art Pixar creation. The creative invention of the animation character is the important thing for me. I like characters that are presented well with good characterization and story.
