Oh, Boy! If you are as passionate and as avid about the American Idol singing talent search reality show as I am, you will be happy to know that this season 9 AI 2010 promises more excitement, bigger dramas, and the best entertainment than ever before.
Why? Well, with Paula Abdul abdicating and post and Ellen DeGeneres being planted in her stead, the fun will increase exponentially. And as far as the contestants are concerned, that bunch is a whole lot more talented and a whole lot more versatile on top of being a whole lot younger than in the previous eight seasons.
But enough rambling on my part, go to American Buzz and get all the info you will ever need to know in order to form your own intelligent opinions.

Doctor Who today is more popular than ever before, but what about its history? The second Doctor, Patrick Troughton broke new ground back in the mid 1960s when he had to take over from William Hartnell, the first Doctor.
It’s hard to imagine today what the reaction must have been when the main character of the popular show transformed in front of their eyes into a different person, but Troughton was the right one to cast and the show continued for another twenty years. Doctor Who fans everywhere can be happy with the new success of the revived series, but it was the work of the first and second Doctor who set the stage for everything that came later.

Whether a person is looking for plasma or LCD technology, there are similar issues with both. However, LCD HDTV technology has been around for several years longer than plasma and many of the initial bugs have been exterminated. They both brag about an increased viewing width, not available with many projection screen sets as well as high resolution and brilliant colors.
LCD HDTV still has a minor issue with display true black images, but most of the loss measured in the darker spectrum will likely be unnoticed by the human eye. They both require special handling and can be destroyed if dropped or severely bumped. They are both high tech devices and require the respect they deserve to preserve their operating life.

The long-running British science fiction serial “Doctor Who” hit a milestone on Sunday November 23rd, 2008 — it’s 45th anniversary.
The show began in 1963 as an obscure, low-budget show airing in black and white in the UK, featuring a mysterious time traveler only known as “The Doctor”. The show went on to become an international cult favorite, running for an amazing 26 seasons until being put “on hiatus” in 1989.
For sixteen years.
The show returned in 2005, starring Christopher Eccleston as the Doctor, and became an immense hit in the UK and became more popular than ever around the world.
With a unique show concept — a main character who “regenerates” into a new body every few years, allowing a new actor to take on the role — the show has the real possibility of going on for another forty-five years after this Doctor Who 45th anniversary.
So maybe in 2053, future fans will be celebrating the 90th anniversary. I know I will, if I’m around.

Let’s face it – with lots of different types of TV’s available, procuring a new television may be confusing. Our buyers’ article endeavours to take you through some of the chief things to ponder when procuring a new television. Find Plasma TVs to buy at Digital Direct.
Are Tellies Changing? The short answer is, yes. Not long ago practically all TV’s were of one style – Cathode Ray Tube (or more universally known as CRT). In spite of the fact that these usual types are still available to buy, there is an entire new variety of tellies just around the corner. The self-styled “digital revolution” has made it possible to acquire significantly more programmes and get much superior quality images on your TV screen. Recent tellies are what’s more compact and stylish. Some new plasma & Liquid crystal display (LCD) TVs are so tremendously slim that they can be hanged on your study room wall like a picture.
The Different Kinds of TVs. If your telly is more than five years old, the likelihood that it’s a traditional CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) Television. The new wave of televisions comes in three main types – Plasma TVs, LCD TV’s and HD (which can consist of either of the other two). Our TV consumers’ guide might assist you indentify the difference:
Plasma TV’s. The most accepted preference for large flat-panel TVs, plasma screens can be as petite as three inches thick – indeed slender enough to be placed a wall. The display is utterly flat, so you can view the pictures from a wider position without causing a drop in sharpness. Plasma TV’s draw on a matrix of small gas plasma cells to display a crystal clear image.
LCD TV’s. Akin to plasma displays, LCD televisions are flat & classy, using a limited amount of area. Available in various dimensions, LCD TV’s provide higher resolution pictures than plasma screens. LCD televisions may be watched from an array of locations, but in comparison against plasma, there is evidence of a fall in quality. LCD TV’s run via a network of tiny liquid crystals packed amidst a backlight and a plate of glass.

A second tip to follow is you should select your song months in advance and practice repeatedly. Practice until you know the words forwards, backwards and sideways. You do not want to be the one contestant that forgets the words to their song in the middle. The more you practice the better you will know the lyrics and the less likely stress is to cause you to forget the words. An additional benefit to practicing so much is you will be comfortable with the flow of the song, and have ample time to ensure that you can select a new song in the event that you have too many complications with your first song. Liquid Crystal Display TVs are also labelled as LCD televisions are televisions which make use of Liquid Crystal Display technology for visual output. The technology exercised is generally TFT, because this permits for size, and specially depth reduction, smaller weights & reduced electricity consumption. Liquid Crystal Display panels are for the majority of the time now used as desk-top displays.
Early on Liquid Crystal Display TV’s did have weaknesses when compared against the well thought-of optical display technologies for the television and desktop VDU market from the known cathode ray tube (more commonly know as CTR) sort, with elements that include electrical energy efficiency being critically important when put next to the CRT design. With Liquid Crystal Display televisions today making improved and extra steps all the time it allows it to fight adjacent to rival technologies, which include plasma flat panels and rear projection televisions for big- screen High Definition Television.
For an extensive time on the television marketplace it was commonly thought that Liquid Crystal Display technology was suitable solitary to lesser sized flat panel tellies with sizes of forty inch or smaller, as it could not battle against plasma technology for screens bigger than this because plasma had the advantage in cost & performance. But, LCD TVs can recently offer comparable performance.
Almost just about each single one of LCD television companies have suggested the idea to provide tens of millions of dollars in LCD creation over the next three years with tellies likely to be crucial in the market. M*A*S*H, which was is a very successful Hollywood movie about a comical medical mash (mobile army surgical hospital) unit during the Korean War inspired the making of a top TV show of the same name that ran from 1972 – 1983. One of the first television shows to combine tragedy with comedy, the characters of the award winning M*A*S*H were so popular among American viewers, they became household names. The most popular character was the wisecracking surgeon, Captain Benjamin “Hawkeye” Pierce (Alan Alda), who cracks us up while patching up wounded soldiers, flirts with nurses and makes fun of head nurse Margaret “Hotlips” Houlihan and fellow doctor, Major Frank Burns. The final episode of M*A*S*H is still one of the all time most watched TV shows of all time! Trapper John, M.D. was a successful spin-off of this top TV show.

Houston like many other large cities has a vast array of products available to the consumer. And, when it comes to television programming, Houston is no different. From cable to satellite to fiber optics the choices are many just as the consumers who purchase these services.
Of course each provider offers different incentives and services, however, Dish Network offers the best overall product day in and day out. For the money, which is a main concern for many consumers, Dish Network the best value.
Dish Network in Houston is the lowest everyday price in this market. When comparing Dish Network’s regular price to the regular pricing of other companies, Dish wins every time. Also, those low promotional prices that often entice the unsuspecting customer and then blows them away with their regular price is not an issue with Dish Network.
Consumers should always ask the retailer what channels are included in each package to be sure the that if there any specific channels that are a must will be in the package they are considering.
For many, Dish Network in Houston has the best channel lineups offered for the money. In many cases the top tier of Dish Network’s lineups cannot be beat by anyone and certainly not for the price. So, feel free to give Dish Pro Satellite Inc. in Houston a call for more information on why Dish may be the best value in Texas.

With the choice of so many programming providers out there it can be difficult deciding on which is right for you and your family. Of course there are some basic factors that can alleviate this decision based on the type of viewing that is desired in your home.
In large cities such as Houston, Texas there are three major providers. These are Dish Network, Direct TV, and of course, Comcast. To be fair to all three there are distinct advantages to each.
For Comcast they tend to have less chance of signal loss during a major storm. However, when signal is lost due to a down or cut line, repair is longer to achieve. In addition pricing is somewhat higher than Direct or Dish. Quality of picture is also an issue, especially if the house is further on down the line as signal strength weakens. And of course, in February of 2009 all cable customers will need a box for each tv wanting service.
Direct TV like Dish has %100 digital programming unlike cable. Where Direct is possibly a better choice over the other two is in the area of NFL fans. Direct TV is the only provider to have the Sunday NFL Ticket where fans can watch all the games on Sunday. This service is usually an additional $300 or more in addition to the regular programming package fees. Also, unlike Dish, a receiver is needed for each tv.
Where Dish Network distinguishes themselves from Comcast and Direct TV is in their overall product. Dish has %100 digital programming, the NFL Network is in one of their lowest priced packages, each receiver is capable of operating two televisions instead of one, their regular pricing is lower than the rest, and signal loss is only on average two to five minutes in the rare occurrence signal is lost. In addition to the regular cd music available, Sirius Satellite music comes included with their mid to high level packaging at no extra cost. And, when it comes to High Definition programming (HDTV) Dish is the leader.
Thanks for stopping by “GreaterHoustonTV” and feel free to give us a call anytime should you have any questions.

I recollect when reality TV shows were first starting up on television. Although I can’t remember exactly which shows were the first to air, I do however recall one of the very first ones I watched and that was Real World on MTV. Many years on my dear friend informed me that Real World was not as genuine as they needed you to think so. A lot of what was on the show was in actual fact staged and many of the people that featured on the show were indeed actors. I’m not sure if what she told me was true or not however to be perfectly honest with you, nothing would surprise me.

I’m always a bit surprised to see people complaining about their satellite TV service. As a happy DISH Network customer for almost 10 years, I always wonder what problems people are running into.
A while back I had to have some new dishes installed as well as a couple of new receivers because I had upgraded my system to HDTV. About three days after the installer left, I think I began to understand why some people run into problems with their satellite TV service.
I switched on the TV and found that I was not able to receive a number of channels. My suspicion turned immediately to the installation and I went outside to take a look up on my roof at the dishes and sure enough, one of them had flopped over and was no longer aiming at the satellite.
Being a do-it-yourself kind of guy and one who is comfortable climbing around on the roof tinkering with things, I scrambled up the ladder I had decided to leave standing against the house for a few days for just this type of event.
With walkie-talkie in hand and my wife in the house in front of the TV with the other walkie-talkie, I was easily able to realign the dish by moving it and having her report to me if she was receiving the channel or not.
The wind was blowing rather strong that day but certainly not strong enough to blow a satellite dish out of alignment. The installer had simply done a careless job of installing the dish and did not tighten the horizontal alignment bolts sufficiently.
The lesson here is to make sure you get a good installation. Don’t be afraid to watch the installer do the work and keep an eye open for anything that does not look like it is being done properly.
I’m convinced that the majority of satellite TV customers that have problems with their systems can trace those problems back to a poorly-installed system.
The two major players in the satellite TV industry are DISH Network and DirecTV. There are many places on the Internet where you can get all the information you need regarding DISH Network offers and DirecTV offers that are currently available.
A properly installed and tested satellite TV system is the key to many years of television viewing satisfaction.

I use to watch Little House on the Prairie when I was growing up. It was one of my favorite shows and I looked forward to it each week. It’s been a long time now since I have seen an episode. I don’t know if they still play on tv. I haven’t come accross any. I know you can get the complete seasons on DVD. There are a total of 9 Seasons and a few movies.

Are you a fan of the hit scifi show Battlestar Galactica? This remake of the classic show from the late 70′s is widely considered far superior to the first. The drama and plotlines are thick, gritty, and real. The cylons are evil and manipulating in a way that often makes you shiver.
You owe it to yourself to give the show a try if you havent seen it yet. Many people consider it the best drama currently on television. BSG is reaching its 4th season, and previous seasons are available online on DVD.
Are you a fan of the show? Take the Battlestar Galactica Quiz and see which character you are!

The television is in constant search for shows that feature interesting subjects. TV is almost always all about the ratings.
That is why even the most bizarre subjects are featured nowadays in various TV shows. Yes, TV stardom has expanded from the Hollywood stars now down to even the silliest creatures.
There are several TV shows, most of them animated that star or feature bed bugs. Just like movies like “Antz” and others that feature bugs, mites, ants and other insects, TV producers and managers have recognized the star power of bed bugs.
And why are bed bugs so popular that people will get to watch their TV shows? One factor is that they are, in real life, so annoying.

Home Improvement was a television show that aired from fall 1991 to spring 1999. There were 204 shows done including a pilot. The show starred Tim Allen as Tim Taylor, the host of a cable TV show called “Tool Time”. The plots generally center on the family life of the Taylors. Tim is generally the brunt of the jokes, since he is somehow able to get himself into very stupid situations at least once a week! The show also stars Patricia Richardson as Jill Taylor, Richard Karn as Al, Tims assistant, and Earl Hindman, who plays Wilson, a bright, quirky neighbor.
