World of Warcraft: Fantasy is FAN-tastic

Around twelve years back, Blizzard Entertainment developed a game called Warcraft, a single/multiplayer adventure game, which went on to become so immensely popular that they added two more Warcraft games, and World of Warcraft is the fourth game in the series. World of Warcraft, also called WOW by gamers, is an massive online multiplayer role- playing game (MMORPG).

To play the game you have to choose a character from a variety of races (human, night elf, orcs, dwarfs, trolls, and more), and having chosen your race, you have to decide what profession you would like to be. The choices are: hunter, paladin, rogue, shaman, warrior, and more. You begin the game as a Level 1 with the objective being to reach Level 60 while having a lot of fun adventuring around and gathering the best possible armor and weapons in the process.

Home Furniture As Entertainment

Tuesday, May 8th, 2007

Home Furniture: Many articles on office planning insist on a set list of items for an office (desk, chair, bookcase, filing cabinet). However, this is the time for some of your creative juices to start flowing. Instead of a traditional desk, you can use a beautiful table that is big enough to spread out your work. Perhaps you work better on your feet and a large whiteboard on the wall would help you develop your ideas. A beautiful carpet underfoot and inspiring artwork can also make your office a great place to spend your day. If you do a lot of reading, consider putting a reading corner in your office with a comfortable chair and side table. Lushoffice.sg

Thinking Of Upgrading To One Of Those Modern Entertainment Centers?

Monday, April 30th, 2007

When I was growing up in the 80′s modern entertainment centers were simple: we had a television. Eventually in the mid-80′s we got one of the first front-loading VCRs and then the customary pile of VHS tapes started piling up. That was all we needed, and they were pretty much the only options anyway.

New video releases

Thursday, March 29th, 2007

Some of us are such fanatics about new video releases that we practically stand in line at 5 a. m. , our fingers and noses pressed against the glass of the shop, praying like the Mervyn’s shopper for the place to “open, open, open…. ”Some of us, myself included are adamant about keeping up with the freshest of new video releases that we always make sure to have a copy of that new video releases guide they give away at the counter, so we can circle and highlight and X out the ones we must see, the ones we have already seen, and the ones we consider, unfortunately, as belonging in the must-miss category.

V-Chip

Saturday, February 24th, 2007

The V-Chip, short for Violence Chip, is a device that can be used to filter what television programs are accessible in your home. This device was developed in Canada, but it is used mainly in the United States by parents who want to be able to control what their children are viewing on TV. With more and more children having TV’s in their rooms as well as being home alone while both parents work, there are concerns over what a child has access to. Since you don’t want to remove the entire cable set up from your home, the V-Chip is a great alternative.

All television sets that have been manufactured since 1998 have the V-Chip ability programmed into them as established by the Federal Trade Commission (FCC). The goal is to promote safety for our children by educating parents about their options.

Home Theater Audio System

Saturday, February 17th, 2007

One reason that many people who would love the benefits of a home theater avoid making the investment or even considering their options is because they live in situations that allow very little space with which to place the necessary components of a home theater system. Home theater audio system

The technology behind fiber optics are the pulses of laser light that transmit data through the very thin strands of glass. The Nintendo Wii Classic Controller : Style And Comfort

Sunday, January 28th, 2007

The Nintendo Wii is known for its new remote controlled technology, but if you want to feel at home with the old school controller, they also offer the “Classic Controller.”

Since it’s the “classic” controller, it’s ideal for the good old Nintendo games of yesterday.  It’s meant to be used for the games where you don’t use the innovative Wiimote, the Nunchuck, or any of the other fancy stuff, but you can use it with any game.  This is the controller to use if you want to keep it simple.

The design is similar to the Super Nintendo game pad.  It’s oval, and the buttons are shaped like a diamond.  The buttons on the front are the good old X, Y, A and B buttons, and there are also four buttons on the top edge of the controller.  It has a D-Pad and a start and select button.

Home Theater System – Fun And Comfort At Home

Thursday, January 25th, 2007

Of course, not everyone plans to sell their homes but it’s nice to know that you investment in a home theater system will help increase the value of your house. You really can benefit from the purchase in other ways, too. You will spend less money on going out when you can entertain right in your own home. We love that we can stay at home and have the best seating during sports events by watching them through our home theater system. My husband may have gone overboard by getting a lot of features that we may never use but his reasoning for doing so is quite rational.

Tragedy at Windfield School – Ken Follett

Saturday, January 20th, 2007
I recently listened to 16 hours of captivating audio on my MP3 player. Hey, this is great! Rather than reading Ken Follett’s book I simply downloaded this audio book thriller and the loaded the MP3 player. No more boredom when stuck in traffic. The commute all of a sudden became something I looked forward to!
This is the plot in a few sentences: In 1866 tragedy strikes at the exclusive Windfield School when a mysterious accident takes the life of a student. Among the student’s circle of friends are Hugh Pilaster; Hugh’s older cousin Edward, dissolute heir to the Pilaster banking fortune; and Micky Miranda, the handsome son of a brutal South American oligarchy. The death and its aftermath begin the spiraling circle of treachery that will span three decades and entwine many lives. From the exclusive men’s clubs that cater to every dark desire of England’s upper classes to the luxurious ballrooms of the manipulators of the world’s wealth, Follett conjures up a stunning panorama of intrigue.

A Dangerous Fortune” sweeeps the characters toward a perilous climax where greed, fed by the shocking truth of a young man’s death, must be stopped – or the dreams of a nation will die.

Radio Show Audio Books

Friday, January 19th, 2007

Just discovered this gem of an radio show audio book, makes for very entertaining listening:

Ed Bishop stars as Philip Marlow in this powerful and atmospheric dramatisation. They never came tougher than Marlowe, a cynical, world-weary, wise-cracking shamus whose honesty in a dishonest world sent him down the mean streets again and again in search of some kind of justice.

There are two distinct stories on the audio: The Big Sleep and The High Window.

The Big Sleep: General Sternwood’s daughters came in both the colours of trouble – blonde and brunette -and they had all the usual vices. With four million dollars behind them, blackmail was only a matter of time. And blackmail can be murder.

The High Window: Linda Conquest was very tough, very kissable and very missing, along with one very valuable old coin. But for some reason the interested parties didn’t seem too interested in finding either of them. Especially when the trail led to the underworld and beyond. And by then Marlowe was knee deep in dead men…

Both are great fun!

A few years back, pretty much all entertainment centers were the same. Because TVs hadn’t gotten as big as they are these days, it was easy to come up with a design that could fit all of them.
