Monday, November 6th, 2006

The musical conception of Igor Stravinsky and George Balanchine supported much of the human movements in the ballet dance. The sophistication and rhythmic irregularities combined makes one look at the ballet dance and listen to the music in a whole new way. Neither dictates the other, but instead they both challenged and enhanced. Another collaboration more experimental though equally important has been that of two contemporary Americans, choreographer Merce Cunningham and composer John Cage.

Buy Tickets for Broadway Shows

Thursday, November 2nd, 2006

I have a passion for Broadway shows. My best friend and I make a point of seeing at least two Broadway shows a year. That’s about all our budgets can afford. Over the past five years, I’ve managed to see quite a few Broadway shows and musicals. I consider myself very fortunate. Getting tickets for broadway shows for yourself or as a gift to Broadway shows is such a wonderful idea. A day trip, or weekend trip, to New York City is always exciting and worthwhile. Whether we are only in town for the Broadway shows or decide to spend a weekend there and dish out some extra cash for hotels, we have never had a disappointing experience. Some of the Broadways shows stand out as having been better than others, but never once have I regretted purchasing tickets for broadway shows. My favorite musical has been Phantom of the Opera. I have seen it twice now and probably always have that as my favorite. Most of the time, we manage to get good seats for the Broadway shows.

Books Online Gives You A Wide Selection

Sunday, September 17th, 2006

Here’s about Books Online
Some bad experiences leave a negative impression for a very long time. I wish to relate an experience. I repeat myself when it comes to the experience of having to shop in a brick-and-mortar store where we serious book shoppers are trying to access a book or magazine or tape on shelves that are blocked by men, women, and kids, laying on the floor, clipping their nails, chatting on cell phones, or browsing then returning the items to the wrong place without paying for anything they have laid their grubby hands on.

Welcome To The Roger Waters Machine

Tuesday, September 12th, 2006

Pink Floyd reunited at the Live 8 concert in London in July 2005, for a one off performance. Roger Waters, Dave Gilmour, Richard Wright, and Nick Mason stood on the same stage at last, after years of estrangement. It was a magical time, with each band mate smiling at each other, as if they couldn’t quite believe it. At the end, Roger Waters drew the others towards him and they all linked arms. They all looked genuinely pleased to be there, and said they were all thinking of Syd.

A lot of mind expansion has gone under the bridge. Sadly, Syd has now passed on. Roger Waters and his former comrades in arms came full circle and enchanted us again at Bob Geldof’s gathering of the clans. Syd is playing in a meadow somewhere, the carefree child again that he once was. Roger Waters is still here to remind us to break down the wall.
