A Doctor Who fan named Alex Day has invented a new genre of music… Timelord Rock, or “Trock” for short.
Alex tells the story of how he invented a new type of music just for fans of the TV show Doctor Who, as well as demos the first “Trock song”.
Oh, and apparently his band’s name is Chameleon Circuit, which is a great name (and Doctor Who reference).

Are you racking your brains trying to figure out just how to promote a concert?
It’s not that difficult once you apply yourself to the task and really, everything is just common sense.
Firstly, time and timing is very important.
Treble check the date of the concert so that there’s no confusion there. (Sounds stupid, I know, but it has happened) Then make sure that any publicity is printed and ready to be displayed in plenty of time. This allows for hold-ups at printers, weekends, bank holidays etc.
You want a good return on ticket sales so don’t leave publicising the event till the last minute. Things like” book now to avoid disappointment” and “when they’re gone they’re gone” are good stock phrases to use.
The design of any posters, flyers or leaflets that you create is vitally important. They have to meet the A.I.D.A criteria. Not sure what that is?
A=attention
I=interest
D=desire
A=action
Basically, the design needs to be good enough/bright enough/unusual enough to attract everyone’s attention. But especially the attention of your target audience whoever they may be.

Dorothy and her cute doggy Toto do not try to find way home from behind the rainbow any more after an English rock band Pink Floyd gave their own version of Pink Floyd Wizard of Oz, Dark Side of the Rainbow.
Wait! Wizard of Oz, an MGM movie, was made 1939 – according to my son, in the ancient times. To be truth, Pink Floyd’s 1973 album, The Dark Side of the Moon, lies for him in the same ancient times.
Now, on the more serious note: Dark Side of the Rainbow aka Dark Side of Oz aka The Wizard of Floyd, is some sort of synchronization between classic MGM movie and Pink Floyd album. One watches the film and listens to music at the same time. Many believe that the movie and the music somehow correspond with each other.

Led Zeppelin T-shirts, Rush baseball caps and Bon Jovi jackets. Classic rock merchandise is hot and many of the consumers are young people who had not even been born when these classic groups were enjoying the pinnacle of their success.
Take a look around eBay sometime and check out all the classic rock-related merchandise. This stuff is still selling and is responsible for a very significant share of rock merchandise and memorabilia being sold today.
In addition to the "real" goods, digital goods that honor classic rock artists are also doing well. MP3 music downloads are available for just about every classic rock artist you can think of as well as classic rock ringtones.
If you had been in a coma since 1982 and awoke today you might have a hard time figuring out if it was still the 1980’s if your only contact with the outside world was an FM radio. Classic rock radio stations are very popular in many markets these days.
I suspect there are people who are getting tired of classic rock but you cannot count me among them. That is the music I listened to growing up and still love today. I don’t think I will ever tire of it.

David Bowie (born David Robert Jones on January 8, 1947) is an English singer, songwriter, actor, multi-instrumentalist, producer, arranger and audio engineer.
Active in five decades of rock music, and frequently re-inventing his music and image, Bowie is widely regarded as an influential innovator, particularly for his work through the 1970s. Bowie has taken cues from a wide range of fine art, philosophy and literature.
He is also a film and stage actor, music video director and visual artist.
Although he released an album and numerous singles earlier, David Bowie first caught the eye and ear of the public in the autumn of 1969, when his space-age mini-melodrama “Space Oddity” reached the top five of the UK singles chart. After a three-year period of experimentation he re-emerged in 1972 during the glam-rock era as a flamboyant, androgynous alter ego Ziggy Stardust, spearheaded by the hit single “Starman” and the album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. The relatively short-lived Ziggy persona epitomised a career often marked by musical innovation, reinvention and striking visual presentation.

Social Distortion (sometimes referred to simply as Social D) is a seminal punk rock band formed in 1978 in Orange County, California. The band currently consists of Mike Ness (vocals, guitars), Jonny “2 Bags” Wickersham (guitars), Brent Harding (bass) and Charlie Quintana (drums). They, along with Minor Threat, Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains and many others, are often credited as one of the leading bands of the 1980s punk revival.
The group briefly disbanded in 1985, due to frontman Ness’ drug addiction, but reformed around 1986 and have continued being active today, even after the death of longtime guitarist Dennis Danell, who succumbed to heart failure in 2000. Since their inception the band lineup has been a virtual revolving-door of talent, with many members coming and going – Ness has been the only constant member.

The classical guitar or Spanish guitar is the most popular of the three kinds of guitar. The classical guitar has a hollow body with a hole that acts as a resonator of the sound produced by plucking and strumming the strings. It normally has six strings made of nylon. When compared to steel strings, nylon strings have less tension thus making the classical guitar easy to strum or pluck. Using only a person’s fingers is the proper way that it is to be played, not with a pick. The
classical guitar is normally used without amplifiers but classical guitar owners can equip one if desired or just play the classical guitar in front of a microphone. The classical guitar is used mainly for playing classical, Flamenco and Latin music.

To some of us, "Classic Rock" is the music we grew up listening to. As one of the "baby boomer" crowd, that is certainly true for me.
My favorites growing up with groups like Rush, Kansas, Yes and Heart. I sometimes wonder what happened to all those old vinyl LP albums I had but somewhere along the way I lost track of them. When the CD was invented, I guess I focused on getting all my music on that new scratch-free audio medium.
What’s kind of cool to see these days is a kind of resurgence of the music I grew up with. Classic rock stations are in just about every radio market and bands from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s are doing reunion tours in front of huge crowds.
It’s nice to see that the music of my generation is not falling out of favor just yet. It brings a smile to my face every time I see some high school kid with a Led Zeppelin T Shirt or an AC/DC baseball cap.

We all know about that other world famous composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, but now tell me, how does another musician with the same first and last name get anywhere trying to promote his original music on the internet. He would have to become an seo expert to gain any name recognition, albeit someone else’s name.
The other Andrew Webber is Andrew Webber - Blues Rock guitarist

Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page has broken his finger. His doctor has determined that he will need three weeks to rest it and heal completely. The group has decided to postpone the concert until December 10 so that they can pick up the rehearsal schedule where it’s now left off. When you check out the toy market place there are dolls for almost anything you can think of. Nowadays nearly every movie star, singer, or performer are the ones that appear to have the most and are taking over the market. You could possible find more than you bargained for if you go online and start looking for an Elvis doll. You see since Elvis Presley was arguably the king of pop and one of the most popular singers ever, if not the most popular singer ever born, you will see that the products bearing his name and face prove this popularity as well. Many people buy the products just to remember Elvis by; others buy them for investment purposes. Many years after the king has gone its evident there is money to be made in the name of Elvis.

Caribbean music has entertained many music fans and has a great influence on the rest of the world. Music from the Caribbean islands such as Calypso, ska, rock steady and dancehall have evolved from each other and fused into what we know as reggae music. This music genre has also been influenced by elements of African rhythms and American blues. Strong bass lines and the bass drum beating characterize this music genre.

After twenty glorious years, Roger Waters and Pink Floyd went their separate ways. Roger forged a solo career, but never seemed as potent as when he’d been with the band. He still wrote some great songs, and probably always will do. Like Ray Davies and Paul Weller, Roger’s songs are quintessentially English.

Last weekend we selected several Beatles songs to play and sat around eating popcorn and going through the rest of our music selections. When my husband arrived home he joined us and started playing some of the less known Beatles songs from the 60s for my son. My son really enjoyed some of these off beat Beatles songs.

Yeah, I know. I should have started looking for Bon Jovi Concert Tickets before the last minute. Don’t think that normally I wouldn’t, but with the custody battle over my kid and the repossession of my house and everything, things have been a little busy. Anyway, I’ve got dozens of connections in the city. I know roadies, managers and staff in every venue in this state, practically.

The guitar is one of the most sought-after musical instruments today. Its popularity is manifested through-out the radio stations and the music videos on MTV. Almost all types of music in modern pop culture have been influenced by the guitar in one way or another.
For people who would like to get their hands on a guitar, they must first learn the guitar lingo. The guitar lingo is made up of weird-sounding words that are unique to the guitar world.

Pink Floyd reunited at the Live 8 concert in London in July 2005, for a one off performance. Roger Waters, Dave Gilmour, Richard Wright, and Nick Mason stood on the same stage at last, after years of estrangement. It was a magical time, with each band mate smiling at each other, as if they couldn’t quite believe it. At the end, Roger Waters drew the others towards him and they all linked arms. They all looked genuinely pleased to be there, and said they were all thinking of Syd.
A lot of mind expansion has gone under the bridge. Sadly, Syd has now passed on. Roger Waters and his former comrades in arms came full circle and enchanted us again at Bob Geldof’s gathering of the clans. Syd is playing in a meadow somewhere, the carefree child again that he once was. Roger Waters is still here to remind us to break down the wall.

An article about Beatles Songs
There is nothing nicer than listening to your parent’s vinyl. It gives you a sense that good music is omnipotent and will never be forgotten. What I first found in my parent’s music collection, were the Beatles albums. They had a nice selection of all the albums being released since the sixties. There were a lot of nice Beatles songs, which I had never come across before. Since then, I am a great fan of the Beatles, and really listen to their songs on a regular basis.

An article about Bon Jovi Concert Tickets
Yeah, I know what you are thinking. I should have started looking for Bon Jovi concert tickets before the last minute. Don’t think that normally I wouldn’t, but I had the unpleasant situation of fighting a custody battle over my kid and the repossession of my house and all my belongings, things have been a little busy to say the least. Now with that said you would think that with all that I’d be able to score some lousy Bon Jovi concert tickets, even if I had to settle for nosebleeds. But no way, no how. Ouch, that hurts.
