The classical guitar or Spanish guitar is the most popular of the three kinds of guitar. The classical guitar has a hollow body with a hole that acts as a resonator of the sound produced by plucking and strumming the strings. It normally has six strings made of nylon. When compared to steel strings, nylon strings have less tension thus making the classical guitar easy to strum or pluck. Using only a person’s fingers is the proper way that it is to be played, not with a pick. The
classical guitar is normally used without amplifiers but classical guitar owners can equip one if desired or just play the classical guitar in front of a microphone. The classical guitar is used mainly for playing classical, Flamenco and Latin music.

Percussion instruments have been around for thousands of years. They began as a method of communication, a part of important tribal ceremonies before becoming a very common expression of musical taste. The word percussion comes from a Latin word, that when translated means to strike. Of course, not all percussion instruments are hit to make their music.

Now that its obvious mp3 downloading is an entrenched culture in the entire world, its time to pay attention to the quality of the music that you’re subjecting your ears too. Quality of the audio is mainly dependent on two things, the mp3 recording itself, and the mp3 player that you use.
Since the quality of most mp3 songs you download are ok, the thing you need to pay attention to, is the quality of your mp3 player. Cheap mp3 players just do not cut it, unless you don’t mind listening to very diluted, and watery audio quality.
Most cheap mp3 players do not reproduce the audio of the musical instruments well. Clarity and depth are missing most of the time.

Hints on Buying Your Second Hand Guitar and Questions to Ask the Seller
The model and make of the guitar – It is best if you can research the guitar model you are interested in to find out the asking price elsewhere, both the new and used price. Also in your research, find out if other people have experienced any problems with it. You can find reviews for almost any guitar submitted at www.harmony-central.com/Guitar or you can check it out at your local
music store.
Check the condition of the guitar – Ask the seller about any damage that would be undetectable upon rough inspection. An honest seller may tell you.
How old is the guitar, how long have they had it? – If they have owned it for a long time, they should know the history of its use, repairs and maintenance etc. If they are not forthcoming with that sort of information, they may be trying to pull one over you.
Check for the following when inspecting the guitar:
The guitars overall condition – Examine the guitar and make note of any obvious damage. – Guitars often take a bit of wear and tear and if its just small scrapes and scratches then the guitar should probably be OK. Check for rust also, not just on the strings, but also examine the hardware that is holding the strings and the pickups. If you find rust in any of these places… run! It’s not worth it. A guitar that may fall apart on you in the near future isn’t much good, is it? Trust me – leave it alone.

Although there are some musical instrument makers and other highly specialized folks at craft shows, the majority of people there sell simple little trinkets. I have seen people who make all of their work out of cut up scraps of tin, people who print out shirts with cute smiley face people on them, and folks who make nothing but incense holders shaped like whimsical wizards. All of them do exceptionally well at the craft shows.

The piano is the most versatile instrument around, equally at home in classical, jazz, pop and rock music. It’s also an instrument of torture for some people, haunted by childhood memories of trying to learn their scales. I never learned to play, which I regret, because I love piano music in all its forms. The instrument was the exclusive property of the wealthy in the past. It was part of a young lady’s education to achieve a measure of accomplishment as a pianist, and she was expected to give recitals to guests at family soirees. If you are looking for a new instrument of any kind, you may be looking for something that is not quite brand new. If this is the case, you are not alone. New instruments are often expensive, and you don’t always have the money to buy a new instrument every single time you want one. If you want to find something great, you can look in the stores around you, or you can take a chance on some musical instrument auctions to see if you can get a great deal on a quality item.

If you play a member of the brass family, you will find that King musical instruments are a pretty good bet. I am not saying that a king musical instrument is always the best bet, but I have been playing them for a few years, and have been pretty happy with the results. The real problem, though, with buying a musical instrument is that they are so expensive that you can not really get the chance to try out a few of them before deciding what to get. Yes, King musical instruments are good, but so are Selmer musical instruments, as well as those of many other brands.

The process of guitar tuning is relatively simple. Novice guitar players may benefit from a few tools that make the process even easier, and more accurate. There are a variety of guitar tuners available. Some play a note in perfect pitch, allowing you to hear how your notes should sound. These are often very basic, and quite inexpensive. Some more sophisticated models can also detect a note as you play it, and indicate how far off-key (and in which direction) the string is. There are even online tools that help you tune your guitar properly by playing a note in perfect pitch, and are very often completely free.

The internet can also help improve one’s skill with the guitar. There are many websites available that give tips from a beginner’s stage to the more advanced lessons.
Instructional videos are also available. Some were produced by rock stars and each of these individuals have or use a different technique.
The best technique that can be used to check your progress is by playing the guitar at the same time as the same song is playing in the background. That way, if you are playing “off key”, adjustments can be made until it is perfected.

If you don’t have access to a tuner, you can get your basic pitches from a piano or keyboard. There are also sites online that will give you the pitch you need. The sixth string, which is the low E, should match the E key on the piano. Here’s how to find it. The white keys of the piano are interrupted by the black keys. You’ll have two white keys together, then a set of two black keys separated by a white, then two white keys together and a set of three black keys separated by whites. The key just to the right of the second black key in the sets of two is an E. Find an E on the right hand side of the piano keyboard, and it will be low pitched. You might be an octave off, but you can still hear the note well enough to tune your sixth string to it.
