Independent Music

Friday, October 24th, 2008

If you love independent music, you are not alone. Many find they are bored with what MTV offers, or rather doesn’t offer any more, and the radio seems to play the same tired songs all of the time. They want something new and different, and they turn to independent music. Most are not disappointed. The bands find they can reach people everywhere, and people have more options for music. Some even find that an unknown band on the other side of the world becomes their most preferred music, and they stop listening to the commercialize pop music completely.

Music Posters

Friday, October 24th, 2008

Advertising and graphic art really took off in the 1960s. It was the heyday for music posters, especially in the latter part of the decade when psychedelic, swirling colors were stuck to thousands of teenage bedroom walls. Everyone wanted a reminder of their guitar heroes or their favorite gigs. These posters are still popular today as each generation makes their bedroom a shrine to their music gods.
The most famous rock festival in history, the original Woodstock, produced a number of iconic music posters. The most familiar one is of the festival logo; a dove perched on the fretboard of a guitar. Other posters show Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix playing there. Tastes in music will evolve but music posters will always be in demand by the fans and a way to express their devotion.

PBS becomes a Missouri tourist

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

The local PBS station wanted to do a special on Missouri so they loaded up the van and headed towards the state. On the first rest stop once they crossed the border they picked up a Missouri tourist guide and started looking at the attractions. They decided a trip to Branson might be just the thing as it was reasonably long drive and they could film quite a bit of the countryside and show how it changes from north to south. They started filming once they got to Kansas City showcasing the parts of big city seen as one drives along 435. When they exited on the south side they carefully documented how the city flows to the suburbs and how the suburbs flow into the country. Starting out was mostly prairie which slowly changed to more forest. The small towns were chronicled also. The further they went the more trees and hills there were and the views became more spectacular. They actually bypassed Branson showing the changing scenery as they drove up into the Ozark mountains. After having all that footage they returned to Branson and highlighted some of the shows and events there. Rather than a documentary I think they actually filmed a commercial for Missouri.

Art Posters on Sale

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

So you’ve just gotten back from visiting the works of Monet, Van Gogh, Picasso, and Da Vinci at the nearest museum. You were amazed at the beauty and precision of the work. But did you know that it’s highly like that you were not looking at the original piece of art?

Looking to stunning replicas? Check out

While those replicas are extremely valuable, they are not nearly as valuable at the originals which are often owned by private collectors, banks, etc. One of the few originals pieces of art that the public can see is the Mona Lisa at the Louvre. If you’ve ever been to see it, you might have noticed the massive security surrounding it.

Buying Digital Camera

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

Getting a good deal when buying a digital camera won’t do you much good if you can’t use it for what you need it to do.

Another place to get good information about buying a digital camera might be the website Epinions. Here, users review all sorts of things, including consumer electronics. Do a search for some of the models you are considering for purchase, and see what each reviewer has to say about that camera. They may love their camera, or they may regret buying a digital camera they didn’t research.

Once you have decided that there are a few models you are interested in buying, you can then narrow down your list by your budget.

Canon Sure Shot Digital Camera

Thursday, January 10th, 2008

The Canon Sure Shot Digital camera is also easy to use and it is fully automatic with a built-in zoom capability, and a timer system. You will also find that there is a red eye reduction capability.

Amongst these features you will also find that the Canon Sure Shot Digital camera lives up to its name and takes steady images which won’t become blurred unless there is intentional camera shake.

The Canon Sure Shot Digital camera also provides us with good picture quality, and the battery for this camera also has a long duration and life. While these are some of the advantages to be found on the Canon Sure Shot Digital camera there are also some disadvantages to be found, like the fact that there is a small delay in-between taking photographs.

This means that you will have to wait a few seconds to line up and take the next shot. Although the actual delay time is small, it might sometimes cost you a good picture if the light turns the wrong way or you lose a candid moment.

World War II Art

Monday, December 24th, 2007

One of the World War II art works that has the most lasting influence is the image of Rosy the Riveter. This was part of a series of works to inspire women to join the workforce to help make weapons. Of all of the World War II art that was made, this image is one of the only ones which has really stuck around for the long run, inspiring feminists to organize. If only more World War II art had such noble effects!

If you’re looking for pictures of art and culture in World War 2, you probably need to begin your search on the Internet. These pieces are becoming more and more rare as time passes. The art of the “Greatest Generation” continues to inspire people today; World War II art will always show your patriotism.

The Best Loan is planned and designed so that every customer who applies for it can enjoy the basic comforts of life

Monday, November 12th, 2007

The definition of best is different for all. For me the best loan is that which can bring the maximum benefits to the borrower. Being into the profession of photography I always wanted to enter the glamorous world of media and cinematography. Before that I had to pursue a special training on photography for which I had to apply for a loan.

Home Improvement Loan - is what we offer.

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

My home needed some renovations and alterations so I had to apply for a home improvement loan. Before taking the plunge I took some photographs of my existing home. After the required refurbishment was done it was unbelievably absolutely a new house. I again used my photography skills to take snaps of my renewed home. It had changed drastically obviously for better.

The Getty Center - A Magical Place for the Arts

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

There are many wonderful art museums throughout the U.S. where you can take in the greatest artistic works ever created.  Mid-major cities like Denver have invested in an expansion to the Denver Art Museum that includes not only quality exhibitions inside, but also an artistic architectural design.  The Denver Art Museum’s expansion spans Bannock Street with an extension that comes to a point over the side street.  However, while cities like Denver have a renewed focus on the arts with investment in their art museum and performing arts center, they still have a long way to go if they want to rival the cultural attractions of our alpha cities like New York and Los Angeles.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, or “The Met” in New York is probably the most famous art museum in the states.  The Met has been the benefactor of considerable investment by philanthropic donors in a city where there is a large population of money.  The 19th Century European wing of the Met is a particularly popular exhibit, though will be closed in the second half of 2007 for renovation of the floors.  The Museum of Modern Art, or MOMA, on 53rd Street, is also a world renowned

However, while New York gets a lot of attention for its art museums, The Getty Center in Los Angeles, home to the J Paul Getty Museum, is really something special. The Getty Center is located on a beautiful hill in Brentwood and offers a beautifully landscaped site and gorgeous views of Los Angeles.  The Getty Center exhibits European paintings, manuscripts, drawings, and photography.  The Getty is uniquely Los Angeles and the Getty’s photography exhibits are usually spectacular and sets this museum apart.  An afternoon at the J Paul Getty Museum followed by enjoying the sunset from the Getty Center lawns is something that everyone should experience.

It’s nice to have dreams but fashion model agencies want more than dreams. They want a specific look and don’t mind shattering your modeling goals with two words…

“Not interested”

Examine yourself carefully and see if you have the attributes to become a top fashion model.

Sports Photography Can Be Fun And Frustrating

Monday, June 4th, 2007

You can see the results on the newspaper sports pages practically everyday so you know that taking good pictures of sporting events is possible, it just does not seem that sports photography would be as hard. Portrait photography seems to be difficult enough with the proper lighting and the direction in which the subject is looking, but taking pictures of subjects that seem to be constantly moving can add another dimension to the difficulty.

By definition, sports photography can be tough because you are trying to depict the action of the sport through a still photograph.

The Too Shy Fashion Model

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

This is the answer to a question I was sent by a young fashion model who is too shy and nervous to get started. Maybe you can add some getting over shyness comments.

Hey Bob my name is Malinda & I am a rising sophomore. I really want to model but I have a couple of issues at hand.

The first one is that I am shy. I can send email messages all day and speak to you on the phone but in person I am completely shy.

Some things to know about Digital Cameras

Sunday, May 6th, 2007

Most people do not have a slightest idea of how the digital cameras work, or in fact anything about them — so I’ve assembled a bunch of things to know about them. I’ll be glad if this info will be helpful!

- The first consumer digital camera hit the market in 1997.

- Many digital cameras employ sosphisticated algorithms to reproduce color accurately.

- All digital cameras use a CCD or an metaloxide semi conductor (MOS) sensor, or a combination of these.

- In the early days pictures used to be stored in brand-specific file formats; now any camera can save an image as a JPEG .

- These days, most LivePreview Digital cameras can take short movie clips.

Friday, April 20th, 2007

Bob Pardue Photography is proud to introduce Megan Lynn … an astonishing and sexy model residing in Florida. You will be impressed by her look and the way she presents herself in front of the camera.

I would like to add that, as a professional female photographer, I am itching to shoot with Megan and experience her creativity.

From Megan Lynn:

“I have had eight years experience with a few breaks throughout the career to finish a masters degree for college.

The degree was in accounting and taxes with a minor in psychology. After taking a break to finish my schooling I began to get back into the business for modeling and have fell in love with the career all over again.”

The Value of Online Art Galleries

Thursday, April 12th, 2007

As an artist, I really have to do everything that I can to try to publicize myself and get known, or else there is simply no chance of getting that all important break. The fact is that there are a lot of different things that you can do to get attention for your art, but not all of them are really going to help you all that much.

Lingerie Model from South Africa

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

This week’s featured model is Mandie from South Africa. Mandie sent in a couple of great pictures and is trying her hand at becoming a lingerie model in addition to the fashion scene. You will be able to copy and paste a link to the blog and make comments on her modeling photos.

This week’s model is Mandie - Commentis from this glamour model …

I am one in a million. There are few models with natural red hair in the industry. New to the industry. People say I have a captivating look and have sex appeal. I’m not too skinny and have a good body for my age.

It was suggested that I enter the modelling world, and I did. A tough industry because there aren’t exactly a market for this in South Africa.

If one wants to make a career out of this, you need to be in the UK. I mainly do this for fun and hopefully someone will discover me. I will accept TFP and TFCD, but would like to do more paid assignments.

Scrapbook organizer

Sunday, April 1st, 2007

I first got into scrapbooking as a hobby after my son was born. I ended up quitting my full-time job in order to stay home with the baby, and I needed something to do to occupy my time when he was napping. I was taking so many pictures and collecting so many mementos of my baby that scrapbooking seemed like a natural choice. Although things went well with my new hobby at the beginning, I soon got overwhelmed because I wasn’t completing my tasks and all my materials were scattered throughout the house. What I needed was a scrapbook organizer to help me keep things in place. Organization has never been my strong suit, so I knew I would benefit from a scrapbook organizer (provided, of course, that I actually used it).

4 Color Printing

Saturday, March 31st, 2007

When using 4 color printing services, its not just the cost it takes that it is important, but the time it takes to get the job done. I had a 4 color printing job for a seminar the other week at a national conference of aeronautical engineers and designers, and was to give a presentation. Power point is a little stale, many people believe, and so I thought that I’d hand out everyone their own personal and personalized printouts of my stats with places where they can make their own notes as well as a form which they can use to send them back to me, and ask questions and give feedback. But, unfortunaltely, I was way behind schedule, and was only able to give the job to the printer palce four days before the scheduled event was to take place, so there was a rush on the order, and it was more expensive than a normal order.

Used digital camera

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

Digital cameras have come a long way in the last few years. It used to be that to even get a decent picture, you had to get the newest digital camera available. Only the most high-tech digital cameras would work. Other ones would have such low resolution that if you blew up the picture, you would barely be able to see anything. Nowadays, however, even the used digital cameras are amazing. The resolution has gotten so good, in fact, that a high end used digital SLR camera is nearly as good as a new one. If you are willing to buy a used camera, you can actually have professional grade photographs for a fraction of the price. I have been using a used digital camera for a long time, so I know.

Fine art posters

Wednesday, March 21st, 2007

I have to admit that I’m not very big on interior design or home decorating. I mean, I don’t have the most expensive furniture, my fabrics and colors aren’t coordinated, and I don’t make the best use of space. I think it’s safe to say you won’t be seeing any pictures of my place in a “Better Homes & Garden” photo shoot anytime soon! Nevertheless, I believe that I do one thing well: my walls. To me, there’s nothing more depressing than a home with bare walls, so I go out of my way to make sure that mine are covered with interesting things to look at. Some of my favorite wall hangings are the framed fine art posters that I’ve purchased over the years.

Satellite photos

Thursday, March 15th, 2007

Since the first satellite was launched, a wide range of information in the form of satellite photos has been streaming back to earth. And our meteorologists and weather scientists have been able to better understand climate and weather phenomena. But the hey day of satellite photos can be considered to have come about with advances in espionage. Most countries with satellites used their eye in the sky to take satellite photos of enemy installations, terrain information and weather conditions in order that they could better plan their attack or defense strategy. This too was information that could not be obtained in any other way and helped those countries with superior technology, better economies and access to millions of dollars for research and development to obtain, study and implement their strategies based on the information present in satellite photos.

Almost every young girl goes through a phase where she wants to become a model. Fortunately for most of them, however, they outgrow it before it is too late.
