As an aspiring singer, you may be wondering where to start in order to increase vocal range and become a more versatile performer. Consider this; when they invented the piano, they placed the “C” note right in the middle of the keyboard. This is because the C scale is the most common range for the human voice. This is a good place to start defining your limitations which you will need to identify before venturing into broader horizons. Experiment with the middle C scale to see if it is your natural range. Most people can sing a one octave scale comfortably before they have to strain to hit high notes or reach deep down for the low ones. If your natural octave range is not the C scale, it will most likely be close to it.
It will be necessary for you to master and commit to memory your natural octave scale before you can begin increasing your vocal range beyond that limit. This one octave will be your “comfort zone” and serve as a recognizable set of 2 border lines, high and low, from which you will attempt to expand beyond.
Please, Don’t Say The “P” Word!!!
Practicing scales is never a favorite activity for amateur musicians and singers, but it is a vitally important exercise if you wish to become a serious talent. This is why so many people who “love to sing,” never become singers, because they don’t want to be bothered with the stuff that isn’t fun and part of the romantic image of what a singer is and does. It is like trying to be a football player without taking part in daily workouts and training. Professional singers and musicians never reveal to their fans all of the hours of hard work and toilsome exercise that is required to deliver the fantasy image that sparks our imaginations and creates the romantic illusion that we all love to be a part of through the listening experience.
Your first task in your quest to increase vocal range should be to master that natural octave scale. When I say “master,” I don’t mean just to sing it once or twice and be satisfied that you can do it. You need to make the notes of that scale a part of the deepest inner memory banks of your mind. You need to be able to recognize the notes when you hear them, and duplicate them at will without the aid of an audible sound to guide you. If this sounds like an impossible task to you, it shows that you are unaware of your own potential, and you underestimate the power of the human mind. Not only is this the starting point for expanding your range, but it is a vital aspect of perfect pitch training as well.
Once you have mastered this scale, you will not only have achieved the ability to all of this, but you will experience the physical vibrations caused by each note and will also be able to identify the notes according to the way they feel in your throat. Moving beyond the limits of this scale will then become easier because you will be able to literally feel where you are in relation to your octave scale which will have become a benchmark reference for your ears, throat, brain, and nervous system.

Love to hate her or hate to love her? Either way, no one can stop the media from calling Lady Gaga the fashion icon of the century. Her fashion sense is simply out of this world. However, no animals are hurt in the process. Every month, we hear news of her astonishing costume dress up. Let us reminisce some key highlights of her fashion journey from the beginning of the 2010 till now.
January 2010, she wore a hat made entirely from her own hair when she appeared in Las Vegas at the Consumer Electronics Show. Lady Gaga said she will create fashion, technology and photography products. Fashion Police captured her stunning moment at the red carpet dawn in an “iridescen Armani Prive swirling confection, accessorized with sparkling heelless platforms and a giant star.” Absolutely beautiful and elegant for the glamorous Grammy Awards.
February 2010, destination Brit Awards. She was the first to arrive and in great style that seemed to leave an ever-lasting impression upon the crowd. Lady Gaga appeared on the red carpet “sporting a white tiered Francesco Scognamiglio dress with a white pompadour wig that would make even Amy Winehouse’s beehive appear tame.”
March 2010, venue BBC Friday Night with Jonathon Ross. Punchline this round is a hair raising “hair phone”. A successful marketing tactics I would say to promote her single “Telephone”. Definitely another top charter of fashion forums.
Apr 2010, Fashion Yearbook. Vote results for the best and worst costume worn by her. Best ones include “Pretty in Hot Pink”, a bubblegum pink, structured cocktail dress for the 2007 Brit Awards. “Futuristic Disco Queen” glitzy disco dress that she wore at the 2009 Glastonbury Music Festival. “Banana Jacket” that sports a button collar, sunny hue color-blocked with black stripes fabric, fingerless leather gloves, and over-sized, open sleeves. “Lilac Rabbit” sporting a lilac blond bob under a black veil with 2 black lace bunny ears by Maison Michel on the cover of Spanish magazine Neo 2. “Dripping in Pearls” all-white pearl outfit, including her body and face. Worst costumes include “Plain Lady Gaga”, “Blubble Wrap”, “Gaga Little Tea Pot”, “Layer Cake” and “Muppet Slayer”
May 2010, Time magazine included Gaga in its annual Time 100 list of the most influential people in the world
June 2010, revelation of the fashion rundown for her latest single “Alejandro”. Gaga’s steam punk inspired binocular headdress is by Nasir Mazhar and the black Victorian-style cape was custom-made by the late designer Alexander McQueen. She wore underwear by Calvin Klein, black heels by Christian Louboutin and stockings by Agent Provocateur. The red nun outfit is custom made by Atsuko Kudo and its worn with a rosary bead necklace and jewels by Pamela Love. Gaga’s Joan of Arc tunic is a rubber piece custom-made by Jaiden rVa James with platform shoes by Noritaka Tatehana.
July 2010, performed for the Costume Institute ball at the Metropolitan Museum of Art as part of her Monster Ball tour. She looked like “a cross between Catwoman and Gene Simmons” as put by Washington Post. Needless to say, this invited an avalanche of critics who dethroned her from being a fashion “icon”.
August 2010, Staples Center. Lady G wore plastic bubbles on her bod, red lace over her face, 10-inch Alexander McQueen “armadilio” shoes on her feet and an Armani “Space Age” dress constructed of glittery rings that seemed to orbit around her. Turning the singing artist into a human disco ball.

Did you see Britney on the VMAs? She’s finally looking hot again and getting her act together. I can’t wait to see her perform again. I’ve been trying to get the latest news on her. My favorite Britney Spears biography usually also has up-to date information on what’s going on in her life. I know everyone loved trashing her, but I kind of felt bad for her. I mean, she was just going through a tough time. I knew she’d get back on track soon. Can’t wait to see more of her in the future!

A second tip to follow is you should select your song months in advance and practice repeatedly. Practice until you know the words forwards, backwards and sideways. You do not want to be the one contestant that forgets the words to their song in the middle. The more you practice the better you will know the lyrics and the less likely stress is to cause you to forget the words. An additional benefit to practicing so much is you will be comfortable with the flow of the song, and have ample time to ensure that you can select a new song in the event that you have too many complications with your first song. My suggestion to you is to watch the ballad songs. Granted, ballads when sung right are very beautiful to hear and can be extremely popular with the audience, but the ballads very slow tempo also makes it much more likely to be forgotten by that same audience the minute you walk off stage. How many times have you seen an audience come out of their seats with thunderous applause after listening to a ballad? To become an American Idol winner, you will need songs that will get the audience moving. In that way you will make a connection with them. An audience that is moving with your song is much more likely to connect with you and remember you, as will the American Idol judges. And, that might be enough to make you an American Idol winner.

Personally, there is no way I would have gone out for American Idol auditions myself if not for the fact that I have had a lot of experience going to music auditions before, as well as a few gigs. I am not exaggerating when I say, an American Idol audition is probably one of the most stressful auditions or tryouts that you could possibly have. Imagine having to audition on a nationally televised program in front of some very tough American Idol judges. Look, just a normal audition is tough enough, but this kind of tryout is unbelievably nerve wracking to say the least.

Wikipedia is great for getting the facts. But if you want the dirt on celebs, specifically female celebrities, you need to go to Chickipedia. They definitely don’t go into as much detail as Wikipedia, but they have all the dirt and links to other places that dish the dirt. They’re a good jumping off point for pictures, gossip, and even videos of your favorite female celeb. Mine is Britney Spears and their page doesn’t disappoint.
However, I do warn you that it is a bit geared for men, so the details it does provide are from a male point of view, if you catch my drift. It is fun just to surf around thought. Definitely a thumbs up from me. And just between you and me, I’ve made it my homepage.

I have a bet going with my buddy. We’re trying to figure out what Rihanna’s measurements are (bust, waist, and hips). You know who I’m talkin about. Rihanna, the girl who sings that song umbrella. Well anyway, my buddy swears she’s “hippier” than what she appears. I think she’s pretty standard. Our debate has actually been going on for weeks. In any regard, I’m trying to find out what her real measurements are. I found one site that has Rihanna facts, biography details, and best of all, Rihanna photos, and the site DOES have her measurements. However, this is the only site I’ve seen that lists them, so I want to make sure they’re accurate before I bring them to the table. Does anyone know of any other site that has hot chick measurements (and pictures would be nice too)? I want to double check the numbers I’ve found.

I picked up a good book the other day and I really enjoyed reading about what was essentially east Iowa tourism. The story was about a couple who put their boat in the Mississippi river at the Minnesota border and planned to live in the boat for the entire summer. As they floated down the river they stopped at different restaurants and attractions each of which they rated. From what I understand from the book people all along the river like to place their top of the line restaurants where their patrons can have a view of the mighty Mississippi. Many of the places they stopped actually had a dock where people could tie their boats and either go inside or some would actually bring the food and drink out to the boat. During the sleep hours they seemed to have no problem finding a desolate area along the bank and tie up the boat for the night. It took them almost three months to make the trip as some places like the Quad Cities had so much to offer that they spent an entire week there. Other places they would just float through only leaving the boat long enough to grab a bite to eat

We all know about that other world famous composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, but now tell me, how does another musician with the same first and last name get anywhere trying to promote his original music on the internet.
